    J Winston anybody?

No need for trade, less than franchise cost (still won't be cheap).
Frankly, similar skill set (good and bad) as.young Ben.

He was looking pretty good before he got hurt.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    Better than a trade.

But I want us to have the big prize of getting a good QB on a rookie deal.

Not a sure bet at any time, but the pay off is so big. Especially if we can do it when we still have Watt and Fitz in their primes. I think it's worth the risk. But I would probably want us to wait until next year to pull the trigger. Then hopefully we're close to a QB away and whoever we draft can come in and play on a team that's competitive and trending upward so we can get the most out of those dirt cheap 4 years.

Thanks, but no thanks. (I'd only consider as a last resort or extremely cheap).

I'd still roll with MR and/ or Haskins and look for a long term QB in 2023.

I'd consider a Watson but not many others. I see a lot of talk in here on Rodgers, he's 38 years old!!!!

Watson is young and talented. He'd be worth a shot, IMHO.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Have we sold Josh Dobbs short? He's been the de facto QB coach the past few seasons and knows the system (if there is a Canada system).

He's smart as a whip (he can fly the space shuttle) is mobile as well. Maybe he is falling thru the cracks a little.

I'd rather even role with Dobbs than bring in another team's rejects. When you do that you get a David Woodley, Tood Blackledge, and Kent Graham.

If these QBs were promising other teams wouldn't be releasing them.

With Watson you get the drama, expense, and have to give up picks.

I really don't think the Rooney's want that look unless he is found clean, which I doubt happens in time.

I'd say Rogers or Wilson are more likely.

But I'm liking Winston because you will have more resources and picks to build around him.

The Steelers are probably in a market in which the probably need to compete year in and year out. Outside of that, the Steelers are a franchise that likes to compete year in and year out. They give it their best shot within reason. It's part of their DNA.

The Steelers are going to fill the roster with QB's. Which players at which price? If Winston is to expensive then the Steelers will continue with their process.

Only if its him or Andy Dalton. I would be a better QB choice than Andy Dalton. and im 5-9

I like him or Mariota if we're going to sign a vet.

I like Mariota personally. I think Winston looks like a mess sometimes. He's got the arm/size, but I'm not sure if he's got "it".

Then again, people wondered the same about Bradshaw and he worked out, so maybe a new scene works for Winston???

I like Mariota n Winston but they would be excellent 2's. Could they really win a Super Bowl for us in the next few years? I think not.
Stroud or Young may be guys in the next draft who can get their teams a shot at a championship. Those 2 imho is the reason to get as much ammo for that draft and take a shot at a future franchise qb a year from now.

I'd really like the Steelers to invest in someone they believe will be the QB for the next 15 years. I don't like 'placeholder' players unless there really are no options out there (A Rodgers being the exception). Winston has had a lot of chances with offensive minded HC's and has shown flashes - but not as a long term solution.

                          hard pass.

I'm gonna have to say thanks but no thanks. He takes a lot of sacks, throws a lot of int's and I don't think he fits the style of offense the Steelers are running under Canada at all. Of course Canada might not be the OC for that long either but by then Winston will be close to 30. I just don't see it happening.
