I've been inside the Steelers' facilities; they are fine, especially compared to the old ones at Three Rivers. Most mid-tier college weight rooms were better than that joint, even some high schools. I am not joking.
The "new one," they share with Pitt. It isn't state of the art, but it's nice enough. One of the critiques is that they use whatever equipment is offered for free, not what the strength coaches feel is best. To be honest, the players who take working out the most seriously, do it own their own, often in outside facilities, as we have seen with players like Troy Polamalu and etc.
Does it make sense to pay 10's of millions in players' salaries and cut corners on the strength trainers and equipment? I don't know.
