One of the main mocks I've seen has us going edge rusher in the 1st...again? You've got to be kidding me. If they do that, geez. We better go OL, QB, WR or DL. Almost anything but edge.

Edge seems like a poor choice given the needs on this team and the lack of draft capital.

Maybe the person doing the mock doesn't realize that when we need a DE, it's not an edge, but a DT (like Cam)?

I hope not too. I don’t necessarily think any are worth it. Just think teams value the position so much teams will jump up to get these guys cause they need to compete.

aside form top QBs, its a pretty deep draft considering the players that opted out in 2020 due to covid. rounds 2-4 are going to be loaded with good players

I think I'd add Edge to your list in round 1 too. We are set with starters. I think we need depth, but will hopefully add a reasonably good vet (that doesn't want to jump ship) in UFA. I guess the issue is that if an edge you think is elite falls to you, it's such an important position. But in that case, I probably try to trade back and pick up another day 2 selection (if possible).

I guess the "good news" here is that we have many needs, so BPA at a position of need is closer to true BPA than usual.
