This isn't even a rumor. A rumor is "The Steelers are shopping Claypool" or "Team have been contacting them about Claypool". This says he could come up in discussions. WTF does that even mean? Of course his name can come up in discussions, every name can. It's a thought in the writer's head as opposed to being based on anything.

Just sounds like an easy trade scenario rumor to make since he had a bad game in primetime. Why would Colbert leaving have anything to do with Claypool’s future?
No ego-protection mode would be left. Pgh makes a lot of decisions with protecting their ego in mind. If Colbert is gone, they'd lose his protection mode on picking CC.

First off, that makes no sense.

Second, Colbert is still going to be in charge of the 2022 draft and will have a lesser role in the front office.

But he has almost 2k yards in 2 seasons. Which probably ranks him in the 30s in the league per year.

The first down thing was stupid, but poor "asset management" is also stupid.

You ever know someone who couldn’t keep a significant other because they always break up after the first argument.

That is how some fans treat players.

He made a gesture during a game. TRADE HIM!!

                  Well, it depends ...

If your towel was used instead of tp, and she hung it back up....

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                  TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Reports of trading Claypool makes no sense... 2 years on contract for cheap, still hasn't reached potential, and fits Canada's motion system with jet handoffs. ( I am not going to mention Ben's arm either.)

If anyone should be in the trade discussion it should be DJ, his value is all time high ( pro bowl and 1,000 yards), he might get us a high 2nd rounder. He is also in his last year of contract and would want $$$ next year or start of his last year, I can't see them resigning him. Trade him now before we lose him for nothing. ( We suck in the comp pick formula game.)

It doesn't make sense to trade either one with only 2 WR on roster and still haven't seen their potential with another QB who can sling the rock.

but Colbert is leaving after the 2022 draft!

There's really only one guy worth trading right now, but the fanbase and city would have a meltdown. Cam is 33 next season and will likely not be part of the next Steeler team to compete for a Super Bowl. If the Rams lose, hit them while they're emotional and get some picks.

He lost his spot because poor dude got locked up on Joels "Pierre Island".

That island is harder to escape than ALCATRAZ.

Nobody should be judged harshly because he had to face THAT LEVEL of elite.

I’ve not seen any reports of Claypool being on the trade block. I think it’s just wishful thinking by some.

I realize what you're saying, and it's valid.

however, it will never happen. Heyward is our team leader, something this team is very short on and badly in need of.
