Allen is a tough one to figure since he was bad as a HC long ago, but man, his D is by my fav in the league. Watching what they did to the GOAT last two seasons was a joy. Nobody slapped him around like this D has.

Based on his D, maybe he deserves another shot. Personally, I would only want him as a DC.

      Might be similar to Lebeau.

      We shall see.

Like most political ideas, it doesn't matter how well intentioned, or how it will apply in theory, in practice it ends up being corrupted. The odd thing about the Flores situation is that focus of the lawsuit introduces nothing new, that candidates are interviewed even though the FO already knows who they want. The otherwise obscure detail of ownership paying a coach to lose, which is not connected to the claim of a racist firing, is the thing that most people are interested in.

The ownership paying for losses is a whole bait and switch. Wonder why it didn’t get its own case?

Was there some sneaky benefit to throwing that in the mix?

I think the point is that the only way this thing gets any traction is with this charge. Otherwise, what is the suit? He was fired because he is black? Even if true it can't be proven. He was interviewing for a position that was already filled? Yes, that is compliance with the Rooney Rule, and everybody knows it. What can we do then to push this thing in front of the news, thereby keeping the minority hiring issue front and center, and my name out there with it? Hey.....I tell people I was paid to lose games - BOMBSHELL - and even though I can't prove it, they can't prove it's false. It is just a juicy rumor.

I think he put that in there to show the owner was bias because Flores wouldn’t play along.

              Same with the Yacht incident.

Must be nice to get another shot with that record as a head coach.
if his defenses ranked in the 20's the last couple of years, do you think he would another head coaching shot?

                  21st or 22nd?

                  28th or 29th.. prolly not.

coordinators usually have more wiggle room when hiring internally.

I always thought Allen would ; he’s good. That stint he had with the raiders is an organizational failure and not necessarily a reflection on him. I feel the same about Todd Bowles and his stint with the Jets.

You're not wrong... but, they'll use Billicheat as the example of why his record with Cleveland has no bearing on his record in NE.

Sure, he could end up being one of the all time greats..

or not. What are the odds he is the next Bellicheck?

Roughly the same odds MR is the next Tom Brady.

right, but if his defense's were stinking it up, he would never get another look

True….thst defense the Saints had last year was nasty thou; the a$$ whipping they gave the Bucs at year end was a work of art. And putting Godwin out for the year was a key part in the Bucs not repeating.

I don't think he is down on the pick. He is saying "what if" he was a bad coordinator.

His defenses have not been in the 20s so he is saying Allen deserves the job because his defenses are good.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
