Maybe we should give it a try
I don’t see that as holding a coach accountable. I see it as an over reaction.

      I hope they regret it.

Butler was a good soldier. With us a long time. Learned a bunch from DL and served us well enough. Enjoy retirement.

The #Steelers have requested to interview #Saints DBs coach Kris Richard for their vacant defensive coordinator opening, source said. The former #Seahawks DC gets another chance after impressing in New Orleans.

This is probably what happened with the Ravens. The Ravens expected Wink to return. Wink and Harbaugh had a discussion about coaching philosophy. Harbaugh probably wanted Wink to change some things about his defensive philosophy. Wink said no. Harbaugh and Wink agreed to part ways.

              found this interesting

The Ravens could make an outside hire for his replacement, but since Marvin Lewis was named the team’s first defensive coordinator before the 1996 season, every successor has been an in-house promotion

also think the quote about Joe Burrow didn’t help Wink. He said Joe isn’t getting fitted for a gold jacket just yet before their second matchup. Joe threw for 525 yards and 4 TD’s.

Ouch...talk about a coach giving an opponent bulletin board material......

(I thought the Steelers were the only team that promoted from within?)

BB material is BS material. But the media and fans will make a BIG DEAL out of BB material. BB material doesn't matter. Players are not thinking about BB material when they are in the "heat of battle". What gets players to perform is talent, how they trained, studied, and learned.

Emotions can't carry coaches and players through 4 QT's of football/team sport or 60+ min. any sport.

Is this more of your learned experience at work?

BB material can help give extra motivation during preparation. You play how you prepare.

BB material doesn't mean anything to professional athletes. what gets players through is how they trained and prepared long before the situation occured.

I will try to simplify this for you. I talked trash to my wife about this and that running. My wife a runner all her life. She ran in races and finished in high status. I am not a life long runner. I am only a recreational/keep healthy type of runner. I can probably out run her in 1 to 3 miles. In a 10 mile race she can defeat me. Why because of her life long training.

I can talk all the trash I want. At the end of the day, training, talent, and preparation is what gets people through. Her life long preparation was better than mine.

We are talking about the highest level where it's assume the best of the best. So the best of the best have the motivation, talent, or whatever factors you come up with. BB material doesn't provide anything more at the highest level. It's all just talk IMO.
