I wouldn't want Cousins, even if he was a free agent. What has he ever won? This is one of the lamest rumors I have seen in a while.

Yes, Minnesota can eat this expensive mistake. In a way this is why I don't want a retread QB. They are looking for the last big "payday" (can't blame them) and it can be a very expensive mistake.

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

if they spend that kind of coin, I'd rather see Deshaun Watson...

Even taking it a little further, it would be nice if either MR and/ or Haskins pan out. It will give us time to clear the books and I don't think either will command a big salary, at least short term. It would be paramount of having a QB on a rookie contract. I think WFT is on the hook for Haskins.

This would allow us to spend money and build the team out. I don't want a Marriota or Bridgewater, that likely are going to want to strike gold with a big payday. It could put us in a situation similar to Minnesota now. No bang for your buck.

I liked Watson a lot, but what of his legal woes? Haven't heard of anything in a while.

I’ve heard he has a couple more civil cases to settle.

This would be intriguing; he is still relatively young. I liked him a lot coming out of college (although I despise Clemson like the plaque) and he was of very high character. This entire story and accusers just didn't seem right to me. I hope it works out for him and if he can get to the Steelers all the better.

Signing bonus would go on the books as dead cap for the Vikings.

Cousins is the worst kind of QB. Good enough to win you 9, 10, 11 games with a decent supporting cast and therefore good enough for coaches and GMs to keep their jobs for some time but he's never going to win a championship and his cap hit is entirely too high to build the kind of roster that could drag him to a championship.

that's exactly why i'm not worried. if that was going to be a thing, it would by now. Woman says, "yes, he asked for happy ending... and i went back 5 more times after that" - i'm kinda thinking y'all are dating. You're just mad that you weren't the only one! LMAO

Anyway, seems the reason he's not playing now is simply the disagreements between him and mgmt.

And this, in a nutshell, is why the QB in '22 will be MR, Haskins, or a FA with minimal long-term salary commitment.

Decent? Cook, Thielen, and Jefferson are perhaps the best combo in the league.

Oh boy, an overpaid systems QB

                            Sure, why not

At this point, with the limited options, I’m with you on Watson. It won’t happen but it’s nice to dream of immediately getting a franchise QB to replace a retired franchise QB.

I hope the Steelers wouldn't be interested in Cousins for the price they would need to pay.
