Based on the Tomlin Presser; Canada is getting to round 2 chance.

Klemm – I’m still not convinced he was fired. I think he jumped a sinking ship. He had ZERO talent and wanted Green to not play center and got overruled. I highly doubt he training techniques included telling guys to get pushed back 4 yards play after play or to totally step aside. He probably hated dealing with Canada as well. Seems odd a guy who sucked at his job would actually be leaving to immediately fill that same role on a team that could have hired anyone, gave him a big raise, and thinks of themselves as being a team that could legitimately complete for National Championships.

Even with the 3 elites on D he mentions; they will not be competitive without real D line help and some d-backs that are solid.

Was disheartening to See Johnson revert to the dropsies this last game.

Claypool reminds me of the kid we all grew up with who dove for every ball, needed or not. First to get dirty and always the dirtiest at the end for no reason.

Muth was great but I think the three of them made a really good TE unit as a whole this year.

Interestingly I’ve read both - they’ll bring in a FA QB or I’ve seen reports they are happy with who’s in the building and going with one of them for next season.

Interesting offseason in the works for sure!

I agree. It was like he was handed a group of 5 High School kids and people questioned why he couldn't turn them into a decent line.

Not sure about Klemm leaving because he was overruled. We literally moved on from Green right after he left. It mattered little outside of the Cleveland game. A game that Cleveland had nothing to play for..

I think Klemm was just offered a lot more money to work with much better talent. Oregon usually has a solid OL and is usually at the top of the Pac 12.

          Maybe the injury year?

Could Arians have put together an offense that was average with Mason / Duck?

If so, maybe that team could have been competitive. The D felt special that year. Seemed like we scored or delivered the ball to the O in great position every week.

But that was 2 OC's later.

Yeah, that defense was good enough for sure. They were winning games on their own at times. Last year's defense was good too but the offense fell apart.

Drop any offense from 2014-2017 (maybe even 2018, though they had no balance at all that year) with that 2019 defense and it's a legit championship caliber roster. They never could get the two lined up from 2012 on. Part of that is because they had to pay Ben legit QB money. His second contract wasn't particularly prohibitive but the 2015 and 2019 extensions were.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                I strongly agree with this.

We'll never know, but I wonder what it would have looked like if we didn't lose Shazier.

That season probably turns out better (although we had him for the 1st Jags game and it didn't help).

Even if it was something like an ACL that he lost a year from, he comes back and can play as Watt ascends.

But, that's not the hand fate dealt him.
