So any and all comments made on this message board have zero credibility or accountability because we can always go back and say ‘ i was not wrong because I changed my mind, I was just being optimistic, I was just being pessimistic, I am a true fan’ etc.
Sounds like participation for almost everybody…woohoo.
Just like the pro talking heads, there's no penalty for being wrong with preseason predictions or draft grades.
Because none of us (even the pros) have any real idea about how individual players or teams are going to do.
But for better or worse, we've all hitched our wagons to the Black and Gold.
Let's hope they don't screw up the rebuild.Comment

I also predicted 11-6 or 12-5 but I will NEVER predict a loss the week of a game.

Yes, I lost a bet.
Yes, I was forced to changed my name.
BOTH are factual.
But, technically since one didn't happen *because* of the other as you state, the statement as a whole is false -- but, i won't bother to explain that. I'll simply point that out and make it look like none of this happened.2013 MNF Executive Champion!Comment

I don’t even have to mention you or your buddy but both of you quickly respond to instigate stuff.
Now go ahead and lie and say you don’t.How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

aaaaand let the record show on May 20, 2021 my prediction for wins and losses.
As critical as I may seem of Ben.. he is still a really good QB when he is on his game.
I think his experience and the weapons we have at WR, TE and RB give us 9 wins..
and I think Watt and Minkah and company can get us another 2 or 3.
I see us as a 11-6 or 10-7. Not sure that gets us into the playoffs but it should.
While we crashed and burned down the stretch I think Ben’s knee was worse than anyone wanted to admit after the Dallas game.
Dotson is the key, he is the one who really makes me believe our OL will be improved.
and no, I didn’t expect losses to the Raiders and a tie with Detroit. But I also didn’t expect massive injuries after the Bills game and Ben to miss the Detroit game a day prior with covid.
but this is what I mean when I ask for evidence. Can whatever provide any post where fans praised the last 5 drafts and gave A’s and B’s across the board?
No.. he can’t because he made it up.Steelers 27

Was it the QB or the WR?
Passer ratings when targeted (50 min. targets);
DJ - 91.8 (good for 30th in the NFL)
Claypool - 75.5 (45th in the NFL)
For comparison (CIN):
Chase - 115.5 (9th)
Higgins - 107.4 (15th)
Boyd - 101.2 (22nd)Comment

Informative post. Gotta start with the qb but I see your point.Comment

That might give some indication of whether it was the QB or the WR.
But when I look at this, I see that the WRs are all higher for the QB that most people would say had a better season and all of them were lower for the QB that most people would say had a worse season.
I think we could identify it as the WR if say Cincy Chase and Higgans were 9th and 15th and then Boyd was like 70th. That would suggest that the QB was throwing good balls, but one of the WRs couldn't make plays (assuming all the players were getting similar type targets). Edited to add: I bet if we put Ray Ray on here, we'd see a lower number than our 2 guys. Suggesting that the difference is more on the WR. But I could easily be wrong. Maybe a way to test my thought here?.
Since the WRs seem to be well grouped with the two QBs, I think we can't tell much from this. Although I guess with similarly ranked WRs, it might suggest that they would also be similarly ranked with a better / worse QB too?
I think that's why it was suspicious last season that all of our WRs had problems dropping balls. When it's one WR with lots of drops, I think it's clearly on the WR. When all the WRs have lots of drops, I think it's more of an indication that the passes aren't great. Although it's certainly possible that a whole receiving corps (and TEs) aren't good.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 01-19-2022, 02:50 PM.Comment

Wow, pretty close to what happened. Only problem is Dotson went down after the Detroit game.
