Winner is in, loser goes home, correct?
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Yes but a Tie gets them both in.

Talk about the second guessing if you try to game it and then go one and done.
Oh, I might agree...then BURN the other team in the end.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

That's how I'd do it. What are they going to do? Sue you for breach of contract?

Good news is that both teams seem to be playing to win, so far. Let's hope one gets rolling and wins a laugher.

Raiders 10-0. Let's go Black 'n Silver, Let's bury 'em. Never thought I'd be saying that, especially as a Stillers fan since the 70's.

There was an intentional draw in the 1982 or 1986 World Cup. And it happens from time to time in competitive chess. However, I think the likelihood of there ever being an intentional tie in the NFL is very remote for three reasons.

                    1) Unlike soccer, the team in possession of the ball is compelled to move it forward or it goes over to the other team -- sometimes in a very threatening position
                    2) The scoring can be uneven in football, a touchdown here, a field goal there and the teams can get off of a score line where a tie is likely.
                    3) In soccer you can set up a team to play for a draw, have your central midfielders play deep and have a wing tuck in to help defend and you are likely to severely limit your opponents scoring chances (and your own). It would be somewhat akin to playing a prevent defense for a full game in football.

All that said, if this game gets near the end and there's a tie score, the teams may allow the clock to run more than we might normally see (especially in overtime).
In response to his pleas, an officer said: "You think we've never arrested somebody that's made national media? ... We deal with the Bengals all the time."

Sorry to be snarky, snarky (love the name), but the World Cup often ends in a skills competition, so I can't take anything about the World Cup seriously. Any championship game should be played until the teams die of exhaustion, if need be.

Two of the twenty-one finals have gone to penalties so that's a strange definition of often. Anyway, I was just contrasting the sports to point out why I don't think a manufactured tie is at all likely in the NFL.

                              Cheers.
