Not only should you rank his game, you should threaten to fight everyone on the internet who does not agree with your ranking.

I honestly don't know how he became an NFL QB, and a pretty good one at that, with such an awkward looking throwing motion. I always hated watching him. I don't like his throwing motion. And I don't like his face! LOL

If it's only guys I've watched many times during their careers since the early 80's,

        Brady
        Montana
        Manning
        Elway
        Marino
        Young
        Brees
        Rodgers
        Favre
        Ben

If Ben had played back in an earlier era, he might have been well above players like Brady, Manning and Rodgers, who benefitted more from the rule changes/emphasis on protecting QBs.

Not a popular opinion but I'd take Ben over Manning regardless of era.

Never been a fan of Rivers arm and Russell Wilson is a beast but I’m giving Ryan his spot based on longevity.

I forgot Elway but to be totally honest, I never liked him or Jim Kelly’s game.
Big Ben copied John Elways game that's who he emulates and why he wears #7

If I was starting a new team and had any QB in their prime, I’d roll with Elway or Jim Kelly.

I always wanted the Steelers to build a Jim Kelly offense and let Ben run a fast paced no huddle and call all his own plays 100% of the time.

It’s really hard to rank Ben as a QB cause he was so unconventional. He was never the smartest or the most accurate QB. He just made time in the pocket, was fearless, and had a crazy pump fake and a huge arm.

All the other QBs many are listing are more of your prototypical QBs. Ben was different. He was tough. He was a football player, not just a QB.

When even trying to consider is there another QB as tough, the only person that comes to mind is Steve McNair.

ive also considered how would Ben have done on other teams compared to QBs we’re ranking him against? It’s quite possible he wouldn’t have won a SuperBowl anywhere other than Pittsburgh.

it’s also possible many other top QBs would have won more than 2 SuperBowls in Pittsburgh during his career as the Steelers D was loaded several times.

Very, very tough as previously mentioned to rate QBs (or players) from different eras. myself, if I am building a team and can have any QB on the list in their prime it would be very tough for me to pass on Dan Marino. He threw one of the best long balls I've have seen and much like the great ones his competitor level was off the charts. For me I'm going with Marino.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

His 1984 regular season is still the best I have ever seen by a QB. He completely obliterated some top pass Ds that year down the stretch, including the Raiders and Cowboys. I won't mention what he did to the Steelers in the playoffs. The best pure passer in my opinion.

Marino had arguably the best throwing arm ever. What's funny is if you look at the best single season passing seasons by yardage it's all in the last 10 years except for Marino, Marino in 1984 had 5,084 yards, that is insane.

I'm not going to make a list because I have not spent nearly as much time watching anyone else on the list as much as Ben. I would say that I do give much greater value to a QB who can win in a Northern climate (Ben, Brady, Rodgers, Favre, Eli) over a guy who spent the bulk of his career either in a dome or ideal climate (Brees, Rivers, Peyton).

Pat Mahomes has a small sample size but we are watching someone who 10 years from now if he continues at this same level could be considered a possible top 10 guy once he hangs them up.

this is what I go with as well.

he definitely wasn't as pretty as some of those other guys on that list,

but on a cold january night in pittsburgh against a nasty ravens defense looking to knock the stuffing out of everyone and especially the QB.
who would you take on these lists?
ben comes to mind first. i'd consider rodgers there as well

edit, to be honest, i'd consider favre and elway as well

Thinking more, this would be my order:

                              Marino
                              Elway
                              Ben
                              Kelly
                              Bradshaw

For pure entertainment as a QB (sans stats), Roethlisberger wins hands down, with Elway a close second. I also liked Favre's gun-slinging days.
