I remember a coach actually going for 2 after every touchdown scored.
how did y'all feel about that?
NJ, Giants, Jets, Eagles, calling you. Why are you a Steeler's fan again? How do you feel about a real Pittsburgher calling you out as a fan?
As a young kid, me and my friends used to "hang out" in old Pitt Stadium. Play "bareback" football games vs other neighborhoods on the astrotuff. Use cardboard to slide down the steep hillsides of the Burgh.
I sold papers at the OLD PITT stadium for a few quarters. Sell enough papers and you get a prize (skate board, basketball, ect). Game mania was our shot in Oakland. The Original was a spot.
Met Marino once at the Old Pantry in South Oakland. Stop with your fake Steelers fan BS.
I didn't think it was possible for us to beat the 9-4 Titans.
I didn't think it was possible for the Rats to beat the Cheeseheads, esp. without Lamar. But it came down to the last play of the game.
I didn't think it was possible for the Lions to humiliate the Cards.
This is a strange year in the NFL. No team is a clear standout. It seems unlikely we'll beat the Chiefs. But who the heck knows anymore!
Which should make the playoffs one of the most unpredictable in recent memory. I don't think it's likely but if the Steelers manage to squeak in who knows what could happen!
You can't leave Haden on Hill 1v1, or else bye bye. Minkah will have to be on top. The bigger issue is covering Kelce with this LB group.
And people forget the Saints destroyed the Bucs last season on the road, so a repeat was no surprise. Saints are 6-0 in their last 6 regular season meetings. Brees never should have played in the playoffs, or the Saints would have won that game as well. They know how to play the Bucs, with or without Brady.
Sometimes analytics don't account for the feel of the game. Those two coaches have become enamored with themselves, and it's costing their teams.
Maybe.
But you're assuming that taking the other side of the decision (which I think has the lower expected value) would have worked out when the choice they made didn't.
I think this is always the hard part about being critical over these decisions. Like the onside kick in the Jag's game.
We chose to run a low probability play because the other path had a lower total probability of working...although Tomlin would say he didn't think about the analytics and "went with his gut".
