    Ingram transforming the Chiefs defense

Chiefs allowing < 10 PPG since acquiring Ingram, who allowed Frank Clark to move back inside. Good locker room guy, too, like he was reportedly in Pittsburgh this summer.

There were no reports of him being disgruntled before it became known they were taking calls (doubtful they were unsolicited), and then subsequently cut his reps.

One of many bad recent moves by this team, who should have been thinking about extending him.

Ingram is a quality starter. Not surprised he is making an impact on the Chiefs defense.

Stupid move to let him go. He would have ended up getting plenty of playing time because of all the injuries to TJ, and would have helped with rotational depth.

Some posters in the Ingram traded thread need to read what he's done for the Chiefs.

Ya...He has 9 tackles, and 1 sack, in 7 games with the Chiefs since we traded him! How can we ever replace that production!

yeah, the one tackle Ingram made in yesterday's 48-9 win over the Raiders made the difference in the game!

So stats are the only qualifier?

There are times you write about the sacks, that’s not just about sacks, it’s if he’s demanding a double team or if he’s driving somebody into the quarterback, the quarterback’s got to move his feet and then he falls into somebody else. So, those kinds of things are what we’re getting and it’s helping. It’s helping a lot
Yup, you peeps know more about what he's contributing than Spagnuolo does.

watching our D the past few games, I'd have to answer, "Not very well, evidently ... "

For whatever reasons the Steelers and Ingram didn't see eye to eye. As a result, they decided to part ways. It happens. Some people can't let it go of what happened several weeks ago. As if Ingram would had been the Steeler's savior.

I don't think anyone is saying he would have been our "savior" ... but since he's left, we've fallen short of winning in 3 very close games. Who knows if just a little bit more help on D would have been enough to turn the tide in one or two of those games?

I think it's fairly obvious that we haven't been able to adequately compensate for lack of quality depth on this defense.

I don't care what he's done there. What I do know is he started the year with some pretty good production for us at a time when our defense was actually very effective. Since he's left the defense has been a disaster. That's not to suggest one player makes all the difference, but there IS a big difference in our defense now as opposed to the start of the season. So while he may not have been a savior for us, I think anyone suggesting we didn't need him the last few weeks is seeing a different picture than most of us.

They didn't see eye to eye. It was explained at the time. What's so hard to understand about this?

Teams can't ALWAYS compensate for the lack of quality depth. It's fairly obvious that teams that remain relatively healthy as the season progresses have a good or maybe the best chance to win in the post season.

Yup. He didn't want to be a team player. He's playing on a one year prove it deal, he better make the most of his chances for one last big contract.

Ingram wanted to play for a winner. Not a non-loser. Who can blame him?

So you trade a player every time he doesn't "see eye to eye" with the team/coaches? Nonsense.

And James Washington asked to be traded early in the season ... why didn't they deal him, if indeed they believe they have to trade players who are unhappy with their usage?

Tomlin just spouted some BS about "hostages," which many of you just swallowed right down.

Pretty hard to compensate for lack of quality depth when you dump the quality depth you have.
