3.5 sacks vs. biggest rival in biggest game so far in the season. HUGE. I just hope he's done with those Kung Fu kicks after sacks. I said all along those were scary as far as causing injury, and he has seemed to stop them since he hurt his leg this season. Hope he keeps those tucked away. He doesn't need to injure himself over celebratory moves.

I agree with you on that one. With the force of that swing it is almost like TRYING to strain a hammy.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
Wasn't he already better in basically every statistical category last year?
If it was strictly a stats thing Shaq Barrett would have been the top edge vote getter 2 years ago.
He wasnt even 1st team all pro with 19.5 sacks.
2 things:
1. Reputation
2. Donald was an INTERIOR lineman last season, a tougher place to get big numbers and was 2nd to Watt who had 2.5 more sacks.
Joe Greene had plenty of acciolades over guys with bigger numbers. Interior guys do more than there numbers indicated as atention they get frees up others.
Dont get me wrong, I too think TJ deserved it last season, but dont think it a crime that it went tob Donald.
He beat TJ 27-20 in votes last season so it was close.
With the pace TJ is on the gulf is ridiculous.
I just dont buy the whole, "they hate the Steelers" angle.
Unless his game absolutely tanks, TJ is gonna win it.
And the vote wont be 27-20.
My guess? More votes than numbers 2 and 3 combined.

Let me add.
If we make the playoffs, and Watt gets that record that is very much in reach, I think that because QB votes will be divided, TJ has an outside chance for LEAGUE MVP.
I would definately favor him as the highest vote getter among non-QBs.

I don't think they hate the Steelers (except Peter King who didn't vote for Troy to get into the Hall).
I agree that reputation is critical for these things.
Ultimately I think it's slightly better for us that he didn't t get it because I think it slightly lowered his contract.
Let me add.

If he gets the record, I think they have to give it to him.
And the way he's been playing, he's got a good chance of he can stay healthy.
