Bruce Gradkowski cut by Tampa Bay

Any thoughts on the Steelers taking a look at this guy? He is a local kid who I know many hoped the Steelers would take when we took Omar Jacobs. You do have the Tomlin--Tampa Bay link.

He may be someone to push Zabransky out. What I have read is Zabransky doesn't have an NFL arm.

we wont pick him up but i love that he was cut by tampon.
enforces my view that gruden is the WORST coach in football.
cut the young promising guy and keep the washed up bums. HAHAHAHAHAHA

O, I like the experience Gradkowski brings, having some NFL starts under his belt. His arm is descent but not nothing to write home to mom about. The concern I have is his size. The guy is tiny. That's why he couldn't flourish in Tampa, a lot of his throws were batted at the line and we won't go into his limited field of vision at that height. He's played in 16 NFL games in 2 seasons and has 10 picks. He's listed at 6'1" but looks more like 5'10" behind the line. Just my two yen.

...But I also think Zabransky will be our #3 with Dixon on IR for the season.... He (Dixon) hasn't had enough time to heal so as to be effective when camp starts...

Batch and Dixon will be behind Ben. I know that that will upset a lot of the Homers here but I just don't think Zabransky has what it takes. IMO, he's a marginal player at best.

i agree i dont think zabransky is nothing more than a third string qb in the nfl. gradowski is a bum as well, probably better than zabransky but still, does it really matter?

There is no Tampa link between these guys. Gradkowski didn't arrive in Tampa until the '06 draft. Tomlin's last season as the D-backs coach in Tampa was in '05. He was D-coordinator in Minnesota in '06.

I think they put Dixon on the IR to red-shirt him & go with 2 QBs to save a roster spot.

No thanks...I believe Dixon is our future as our second string QB. I really hope he is healthy because I love the pick. Lets not forget that Dixon is an athletic freak. He has a strong arm...good mobility and can make all the throws. He was in the Heisman hunt and could have very well been a round 2 pick if he would have stayed healthy.
