And he probably doesn't want to deal with all the hits he'll take behind this OL. He might want to be able to dance (or even walk) when his kids get married. If he was going to play another year...on a new 1 year contract where he could be a UFA...why wouldn't he want to go play for a competitive team?

And at some point, it's got to get embarrassing for him to be leading an offense that scores like 20 points a game, right?
Or he likes playing and it’s a risk all athletes take regarding injury. It’s not like we have a starting QB in waiting.

You all make it out like this loss is on him. Why not discuss the defense blowing chunks.
why does him living here have to do with him playing football anymore. It's not that he will go elsewhere...he will retire a Steeler. Perhaps you are correct and he thinks he can still play at an elite level. This is not about Ben and whether it's his fault or not...it's about his diminished capacity its his diminished capacity coupled with the diminished capabilities of the Offensive side of the ball.

Again they need a QB at a minimum that can move around in the pocket...he cannot do that anymore.

So take away the 2 INTS, we'd only be down 20-3.

And FWIW, I think that this game also rests heavily on the defense. Who absolutely suck today (last week too...and not great the week before that against a bad team). The key to winning games this year had to be the D keeping teams below 20 (preferably below 17). And they are way...way below that today.

It's **** all around. And that includes the coaching.

Although the offense doesn't escape blame either. We'd still be losing 7-3 if the D didn't give up any points today.

Our team is imploding. To think, a year ago, we started 11-0

Nothing about this team is good today.

Humiliationismness. I’m calling in to work hungover tomorrow. They can’t expect me to be productive after this game.

We are suffering extreme humiliation. Debilitating humiliation. This is chronic and endemic.

And then we got cursed or something.

                            Absolutely imploded. Perfect description.

there's plenty of blame to go around.

no need to try and pin it on one guy or phase of the game.

My point, the QB hasn't helped.
