    Can We Talk About Officiating?

I thought that the officiating in this game was pretty much terrible. First, I think that there were several no-calls that could/should have been PI against Cleveland when they were wrapped around our WR's before the ball got there. Then comes the effin' holding penalties, that could be called on every play, but seemed to come out when we had momentum or (cough) made a two point conversion. I don't seemed a bit lopsided yesterday. We we the 3rd of 4th rank team in penalties, the Stains were last coming in. I don't know the final count, but seems we were targeted way more.

I also thought we got robbed on a couple of calls.

Particularly Boz. Can you imagine if that hit gets laid on a franchise QB (that wasn't Ben anyway...because he never seemed to get those calls because he was big and strong...maybe Cam Newton was the same)?

I also thought it was interesting to see that the comments from the Browns board also seemed to think they got robbed by the refs.

Which makes me think that everyone always feels like they get hosed by the officials.

The Boz thing certainly should have been called though IMO. Won't be surprised if that hit results in a fine.

Former NFL official says officials botched call on Chris Boswell injury

The hit on Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell at the end of the first half was ugly. The decision to try a fake field goal in that situation was questionable at best but the injury to Boswell is what could really hurt the Steelers.

Did the officials miss a roughing the passer penalty? It certainly looked like it. Former NFL official and CBS Sports rules analyst Gene Steratore agreed. According to Steratore, the fact it was a kicker and not a quarterback is irrelevant and there should have been a penalty on the Browns and a first down for the Steelers.

Even though Chris Boswell is a kicker by position, on this fake field goal attempt, he is a passer. A defender cannot hit the passer forcibly in the head or neck area. IMO this should have been a 15 yard penalty for roughing in #Pit@Cle
