Dude is a machine.. I won’t believe he is done for the year until the year is over!

“but if they used him less”

yes.. if they used h less the team would already be out of contention for the playoffs.

Get ready for those comments if, heaven forbid, Najee goes down.

        We're certainly gambling with Najee.

If news is bad then it is a shame. He is a beast of a runner and one of the more enjoyable NFLers to watch on Sundays. When I heard the news on radio earlier I did hear one unbelievable stat. Henry is on pace for over 500 touches this season, or 474 if using a 16 game season. Even using the 16 game projection, that would be the second highest total of all time behind only James Wilder in 1984. The 17 game total puts him well ahead. By comparison, Najee is projected to reach 400 touches this season. One major difference between Najee's touch total is that he will have many more of them in the passing game, and receptions typically get you hit by fewer players, and smaller players. Each hit can cause damage, but less wear and tear on receivers than runners.

oh, I know it will happen if Najee goes down.

But we never hear it for all the other injuries suffered on our team.

            Just the RB.

Predicting a football player will eventually get injured isn’t a risky bet.

Yep. Because Mcfarland and crew are terrible. There's better options in free agency right now than what we have in Mcfarland and crew.

                and JuJu?

                and Aloulu?

                and Tuitt?

                and Sutton?

every play is a gamble in football. Did you see Jameis Winston’s injury yesterday?

It can happen on any play. I prefer playing to win over playing to not get a guy injured.

I agree the cause of these injuries is not overuse, the injuries being suffered could happen if the guy played one snap or 400 snaps.

McFarland had 1 touch yesterday. Its too early to know what we have in Mcfarland. He just got off IR.

Hopefully we can get a nice lead these
next 2 weeks and rest Najee in the 4th and
let these other guys get some reps.

You got guys like Adrian Peterson sitting out there and and your talking up Mcfarland? Stop.

But odds are not great for RBs that have more than 300 touches over a 16 game span.

Heck of a TD from NH yesterday though. He's a beast.

I think there's a strong correlation between > 300 touches and injuries for RBs.

You're right that it can happen on any given play. So there is some small chance of injury on every touch.

And giving a guy a super high number of touches then increases the total risk.

And by not distributing the carries, then you have to put in someone who hasn't really had much live action. Often toward the end of the season where you're in the playoffs or trying to make a push for them.

Maybe it doesn't matter this year because we're so dependent on Harris to win now. But it would be nice if we could get more contributions from non-Harris on offense IMO.

                            a) I don't take anything dizz said as 'talking up McFarland". He simply said one touch doesn't tell us anything; b) AP? Stop it SM. The guy is 36 yrs old. There is a reason he is sitting at home.

I believe for RBs there is what they call the curse of 370. The 370 is carries, not touches. I believe there is also the age of 28, as well as a career carry number, although not sure what that number is supposed to be.
