    We have a winner.

Nah, I knew people did not see it coming. Even supporters didn't know he was on the verge.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Oh, I've been waiting my friend. The countdown clock from game one. I've been ready to POUNCE and wanted to make sure I let the board know first.

Frankly, I dont think the team is good at all. I thought it would have taken longer

Is it, has the same number of SB wins and appearances at another HoF Steelers coach?

Oh no...that happened a long time ago.

And since only SBs matter, I guess they're basically the same.

They are also close to being the same in many other metrics too.

If Tomlin ain't a HOF coach, by this measure, THE PRIMARY WAY COACHES ARE JUDGED, Cowher does not belong either!
FWIW, I don't think Cowher would have gotten in without a special class. And the PR that it gave to his current employer, who bankrolls the league.

And that's not a knock on Cowher. I just think that the bar should be very high for humans that aren't playing the game. This include Tomlin, who I don't think should be in the hall based on current achievements (which are no doubt impressive).

I think a 15 year career with one team and an impressive winning percentage and a SB is all that is needed.

Also have to factor in Division titles and playoff appearances.

The days of 30 year head coaches with looooong resumes are over.

because anyone can win an NFL game.

NJ actually believes Tomlin is only here because of his skin color.

Which implies that while anyone can win for the Steelers, he prefers it is a person with a different skin tone than Tomlin.

But your forgetting the time he called a play that didn't work or misused a timeout.

especially in games that we won.

I will never compare Tomlin's career and Cowher's career.
Tomlin has had Ben his entire career.

Cowher had him for 3 (his 1st three no less).

Having said that ... I will not take anything from Tomlin for have Ben his entire career but I won't compare the 2.

I actually agree. I've always been of the opinion that neither were HOF worthy. At least another SB appearance would definitely get Tomlin in.

However, now that the bar is where it is now precedent is set where he is likely in if he retired tomorrow.

I’m sure the NFL and HOF prefers to induct HC’s while they are alive.

It will be a bit anticlimactic to never induct head coaches unless they have 3 SB appearances.
