I digress but I really hate the Canada offense. A prime example is after the two minute warning. You got a tired defense that’s getting gashed on the ground. Then we go completely off script.

I think it was a stupid call.

I think we need all the points we can get.

My guess is that the argument for is something like "We aren't good at scoring points and our D probably isn't going to keep them without a TD today. So we need to try to score TDs in any way we can".

There is probably also something they say in film that they thought they could exploit. But it didn't work. I'd imagine that TD passes from FG kickers are low percentage plays.

Not advocating that position, but I think that could be the thinking.
