USC quarterbacks are always hyped up.

I watched a few games with Darnold at USC.. which is why I was excited when we drafted JuJu.

Darnold just looked like a guy to me.. nothing special. He actually looks like a villain from a lego movie.

However, these last 2 games have shown he is the same old Sam. They are already talking about who should be the next QB in Carolina on sports radio.

He had his 4th worst rating last game vs the Iggles. Steven Nelson picked him off to seal the win.

          He is seeing ghost again.
Darnold has 3 more ints today with a passer rating of 25.5 so far here in the 4th quarter.

Carolina is definitely regretting giving up 3 draft picks in that trade.

your shamless gloating has turned out to be correct,

No one should be surprised by this. Its not like he hasn’t had 3 years as a starting QB to show who he was..

There was always the slimmest of chances that a change of scenery and getting away from Gase could result in a rejuvenation of his college days but Darnold is who he is.. lol.

At least with Haskins there was no picks given.

Carolina should be ashamed of themselves for signing his 5th year option too.

Teddy Bridgewater wasn’t the future but they could’ve kept him and drafted Mac Jones and saved themselves the embarrassment.

Teddy was critical of the staff though and pretty much exposed their lack of prep and how they didn’t spend time practicing a 2 minute offense.

They gave a college coach way too much power and I think he is in over his head this far. Pretty sure no one on staff has any NFL experience as a coordinator. Its an NFL team being run like a college program.

Maybe Darnold should spend more time researching NFL film and less time researching vaccination information? lmao

This is the most important part.

If he doesn't work out (more likely than not IMO), it doesn't matter because all it cost us was a small contract for 2 years.

Considering the qb roller coaster they’ve been on since he left, there just happy about the expected stability their going to get.

Not sure Cam provides stability.. but he gives them hope.

its really about the the FO and coaching staff finally admitting they screwed up letting Cam go so they could start fresh.

and Matt Rhule and this staff are a joke. They have no idea what they are doing and they are trying to run this team like they are in college.

when Darnold played for the Jets' I thought playing for Adam Gase would make anyone look bad.

but watching him play now for Carolina, he really is baaaaddd.

what makes it worse is the Panthers didn’t have to do this.

Right now the Panthers are still paying Cam’s replacement and Cam’s replacement’s replacement…. and now they are paying Cam.

They brought Teddy B in, he was meh…. but he also exposed the unprofessional practice atmosphere so they moved on from Teddy. Teddy said they didn’t spend much time on the 2 minute drill or red zone offense in practice.

Then they traded picks for Darnold AND picked up his 5th year option when they didn’t have to… simply because they were determined to prove they knew what they were doing.

Why would a team with a bad OL pick a QB who plays scared behind a bad OL? As soon as they played better competition Darnold reverted to his skittish ways and kept the USC QB suckage streak alive.

his last game, 3 straight possessions.. 3 straight INT’s.

                            last 5 games:
                            2 TD’s 8 INT’s roughly 160 yds ppg
                            avg QB rating of 50

That'll change after Newton's first game. Dude is done... as in time to carve the turkey done.

I think this is why the Darnold trade was a high risk thing.

You basically had to exercise the 5th year option without having seen him play in your system knowing that he wasn't that good in his previous system (which granted was a terrible team).

That option is just under $19M. That a lot for a guy who is bad at QB.

But I guess that's the thing about QBs. They're so valuable that you have to take huge risks even though they have a negative expected value.
