    Gentlemen,

I give you Steelers 2022 starting QB...

    Jimmy Garropolo

    Not because I want him.

    Tomlin doesn't want a rookie
Kyle Shanahan (or his replacement) is done with him.

He will come cheaper than Ben's 2021 hit $25.9 million to 24.2 million (It's his final year, meaning they could get that cap number even lower).

Canada probably would convince Tomlin he is a good fit.

Mostly I jest, but there is a nagging feeling inside that there is an smoldering ember of possibility.

Everyone always says the play starts with the QB. It does not. The center (Offensive line) starts every play. Nothing works with a bad O Line. Pitts O Line has not only been not good, but it has been bad from some time now. You and I get aggravated with the lack of a run game and short passes. This is all on the O Line. The defense crowds the line, stops the run and forces a pass. The O Line can not protect long enough for deep routes, thus short passes. With the defense already crowding the line too many times the short passing does not get a 1st down. Putt Big Ben behind a very good O Line and he would be just fine. May not make the Pro Bowl but he's stats and our wins would be good. Bottom line. Without a O Line Ben needs to retire NEXT year and we need a mobile QB.
Ben doesn't have the arm to beat the blitz ( anymore ) or the mobility to escape the rush ( anymore ). That's why he shows many passes short and behind the marker of the first down. When he does go deep, he isn't accurate any more. Sad
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

We are in that “limbo” area ; our window closed with the Jags playoff loss a few years ago and before we see our window ever opening again , we’ll have to move on from Ben and Tomlin for starters. So there’s no need to get worked up because we are in transition….it is being slowed by managements reluctance to move on but it is what it is.

Us fans of this organization are in “Steeler prison”; just bidding our time until we get to the other side.

Tomlin's already got his veteran QB on the roster. Not opposed to drafting a starter in waiting though.

Who? Rudolph? Hardly a veteran. Haskins? lol. Dobbs? I guess you can consider him a vet. But I don't think that's what Tomlin had in mind when he said he wanted a veteran QB.

Oh please no Jimmy G. You will need to pray if he's asked to do anything beyond being a game manager.

Steeler prison? lmao.. just find a mew team if being a fan feels like prison.

Might as well go with Rudolph. I don’t think Jimmy G is worth anything close to 24 mill.

I’ve been thinking Jimmy G is going to be here for over 6 months now. He’s better than Rudolph or Haskins but that isn’t saying much. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this happens.

Is it the OL or the QB? Roethlisberger has the fastest time to throw, Brady has the 2nd.

Seems like this is fast throws to me.

I do think the OL is getting better though...but the bar was pretty low at the beginning of the season

Dump offs to Najee and I simply believe our impression of the OL in pass protection doesn’t match reality.

There are times when people say the “fear of getting hit” forced a quick pass or bad pass but the replay will show no one near him before releasing the ball.

Heard today that Harris is on pace for 90+ receptions this year.

                                That's insane.
