Right now the closest thing we have is the back to back Cle games with Mason then Ben.

That comparison isn't exactly flattering for Ben, but the sample size is small.

But the problems on the O are bigger than any one thing IMO. Pretty much everything seems to suck.

is this the game thatsome fans around these boards are excited about for mason? 3 FGs thru 3 quarters?

a bunch of short throws/routes that we've complained about for over a year.

5 long throws with 2/3 of them being badly thrown? chase makes a great play on the ball for a TD, johnson has to slow down twice in order to catch the ball

what's nice to see there is that there is some pass protection. if the pass pro is what we've seen in the first 3 weeks, I'd be afraid to see how mason responds

Yea, you may be right on that.
Would make it more obvious tho.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

It was certainly not great (just like Mason isn't great).

But its not hard to do better than Ben did the next week.

We're not in a good place for having to make a decision at QB (or OL).

I think we'll stay with Ben because we don't think the other guys are the answer either.

He’s a first ballot shoe in for the HOF. They didn’t make Ray Lewis wait and allegedly killed someone.

lolley maintains the arm is fine.

in practice he's making all the throws. says he's not trusting his OL, nor should he

I'd rather see Haskins than Rudolph. Rudolph isn't good. neither is Haskins, but at least he may have some upside

During the no-huddle/hurry up series it sure seemed ok. Savran and Batch were questioning some of his decision-making though. But they also said receivers were not getting open in their routes during much of the afternoon. A caller asked "is it the scheme or the players?". They didn't have an answer to this.

And while Haskins isn't super mobile, Mason isn't mobile at all.

And running for your life seems to be a job requirement for our QB.

And if we're sort of trying to tank, playing the highest risk / reward guy makes sense IMO.

I don't think the beat writers will throw Ben under the bus.

But it's not like this explanation is outside the realm of possibility.

4th and 10 from the 11 yard line and Ben throws a F’n check down throw to Harris on the side with no blockers. Possibly the worst play of Ben’s career. He gave up. He looks afraid. He refuses to use the middle of the field.

Go back and watch the highlights - Ben has time on a lot of throws and takes sacks or can’t find a WR. He may be worried about the line but the second interception was flat out ridiculous and not the line’s fault.

I agree with you. He should be a 1st ballot guy no question. Especially if they put Eli in when he's eligible. Which they might do based on big time SB wins (and not much else IMO).

Lewis is exactly the guy I'd bring up too.

But I don't have much faith in the people that cast the votes.

For example, Peter King will probably still have a vote at that time and he voted against Troy. He won't vote for Ben in year 1 IMO.

Man, so much disrespect out there for Roethlisberger. I'll keep my fingers crossed he can dig down deep and find the fountain of youth...
