Steelers averaging 57 yards rushing per game

Good for 32nd place in the league which is bad enough but that is even way worse than last year’s Steelers team which averaged a paltry 84 yards rushing per game. I thought this problem was addressed in the draft?
Obviously the standard is the standard.

I think Canada is right that a big part of this is that we just haven't run many plays (28th in the league in offensive snaps).

Of course that's because we suck on offense.

And a big part of that is lack of success (running or passing) on early downs.

    It's a vicious cycle.

Our overall numbers suck because we don't run many plays.

And we don't run many plays because the offense is pretty bad.

Hopefully this is skewed by the defenses we've played. And with luck the OL will stop having one guy totally whiff on their assignment on many /most plays.

I guess when the team is playing from behind the inclination might be to pass most of the time? Who knows how much say Ben has in the matter? Young Oline not executing in the run game better? Penalties, poorly thrown passes, and dropped passes making it difficult to sustain drives? Combination of factors?

Whatever the case the offense needs to play better in the run and passing games. The defense can only do so much to keep games close against quality opposition.
