Its funny you like Claypool more and he is the one filming JuJu and was just filmed in a parking lot brawl..

The great thing about WR’s.. you need more than 1. So there is no reason to put these 2 players up against each other. They actually compliment each other well.
Agreed - JuJu is more Hines-esque, while Claypool is probably more young Plaxico...

Mapletron isn't even right - cuz Calvin was a pretty complete 6'5" WR who could run the full route tree AND went after every ball like it was his and only his.

when it's all said and done, i worry more about Claypool being a "me" player than JuJu

Patriots coach Bill Belichick met with the media on Wednesday in what was his first press conference since a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against Antonio Brown this week, and as you can probably imagine, things got a little intense.

During the opening statement of his press conference, Belichick acknowledged the lawsuit, but then also added that he wouldn't be answering any questions about anything pertaining to the case.

"On Antonio's situation, both Antonio and his representatives have made statements and I'm not going to be expanding on any of those, they are what they are," Belichick said. "We've looked into the situation. We're taking it very seriously. All the way through the organization. I'm sure there are questions, but I'm not going to be entering into a discussion about that today."

After the opening statement, the press conference turned into a three-minute sparring match with reporters. During the very brief time that he took questions, Belichick did answer one key question: The Patriots coach revealed that Brown would be allowed to practice with the team on Wednesday.

When asked if Brown would practice, Belichick simply said, "Yes."

This likely means that Brown will be allowed to practice unless his situation somehow changes (More evidence could come to light, the NFL could place him on the commissioner's exempt list or even suspend him for violating the league's personal conduct policy.)

One other interesting note is that the Patriots coach didn't close the door on the possibility of Brown playing against the Dolphins on Sunday.

"We're taking it one day at a time, just like we always do," Belichick said when asked if Brown would be playing in Miami.

After those two questions, Belichick spent the rest of the press conference dodging questions before he finally left the podium. During the Q&A session, Belichick was asked if he was concerned about the possibility that Brown might be placed on the commissioner's exempt list, which would make the receiver ineligible.

"We're preparing for one day at a time," Belchick said.

At one point in the press conference, Belichick was asked if the Brown situation would be a distraction to the team.

"We're working on Miami," Belichick said. "We went through the scouting report. We went through the game plan today. We're going to practice for today."

Belichick eventually shut things down after he was asked if the allegations in the lawsuit would keep Brown from playing from Sunday, which was the second time he had been asked if Brown would play.

"I appreciate all the questions," Belichick said. "What's been said has been said."

In the lawsuit, Brown is accused of sexually assaulting a female acquaintance, Britney Taylor, on three separate occasions. Although Brown's legal team has admitted that the two had a sexual relationship, his camp maintains that everything was consensual between Brown and Taylor.

As for Belichick, he eventually left the podium after he was asked two times in a row if Brown had mentioned anything to him about the lawsuit before signing with the Patriots.

"I mean, I'm done with that, OK," Belichick said after the question was asked the first time. "Anything else on Miami? Any other questions?"

When the same question was asked again, you could tell that Belichick was ready to end the press conference and call it a day.

BB: "I just answered that question."
      Reporter: "Actually, you didn't."
      BB: "Actually, I did."

And with that, Belichick's four-minute press conference came to its conclusion. The main takeaways are that Brown will be practicing on Wednesday, he's currently eligible to play Sunday and he very well might be on the field against the Dolphins.
regardless if they knew or not.. that isn’t a distraction like dancing or FB living.. that was a looming suspension.

but given what Brown had been through with the Steelers, Raiders, throwing couches and tweeting weird stuff all day.. it wasn’t because of the press conference.

It wasn’t the actual PC that made them release AB. It was a looming investigation that involved sexual assault. That is a little different than a distraction. That’s cutting your losses when you know a suspension is likely coming.

..and AB played in that game vs Miami on Sunday after that PC and had a TD.

Peaking with talent around you has NOTHING to do with handling DIva's. Both would have been shown the door earlier with some coaches. Like I said " Feltdizz " DIVA players at WR and RB teams don't win the super bowl when they are being featured.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

a lot of team players don’t win SB’s..

one of the dumbest things people can do is say “this great player didn’t win a SB” as proof they weren’t a valuable member of a team.

When AB and Bell left people celebrated and said we had team players who were awesome.. we haven’t won anything since they left.

and its funny you say teams would’ve shown both of them the door. Both have been picked up by 2 teams since leaving the Steelers. Teams don’t operate like clueless fans and cut their best players over trivial nonsense.

FWIW, I was super pissed when AB left because it meant that we didn't get all the cap benefit we were supposed to get from Bell holding out.

I thought we should have called his bluff and make him play or sit out and not get paid. But I didn't know about the sexual assault stuff (and I wouldn't be surprised if the team did).

Bettis admitted to faking an injury to remain with the team. Do Bettis learn that trick from Cowher? Do you blame that on Cowher or Bettis?

Bettis first said the team didn't play well. Obviously, if the team didn't play well it looked like they were not prepared. Ultimately, games boil down to execution. The team fought back hard to win but the turnovers were to much to over come. They usually are.

Tomlin always knew the best way to manage Brown. He did so for several highly productive seasons. Brown loss out of millions of dollars because he couldn't behave himself even after he was traded. The dude needed professional help. Did he get professional help? There was an article of the subject of Brown. You should read it.

At some point you can't blame a coach or parent man for another grown man's actions.

Every team has divas. No divas are bigger divas than franchise QBs.

No-no there is a spot for diva free agents as long as they can still play. Picking up a player who knows he's on strike two is often cheap. Paying them 15 + million on the cap, or offering them that type of money is risk. Teams are offering AB and Bell BACK UP JOBS these days. Sure teams will tolerate that and broom them if necessary.

Neither player signed for backup money when they left the Steelers.

If there is a spot for diva free agents, then surely there is a spot for diva players on the teams that drafted them and were able to get the most out of them while they were on the roster.

You said other teams would’ve shown them the door.. yet other teams picked them up when they left us and paid them handsomely.

Just showing you how the NFL works. Teams tolerate a lot when a player is balling out.

You think Ben would be a Steeler if he played like Duck and had those assault accusations? He would’ve been gone.
