Glad that he got paid, but wish it was early enough to count for a comp.

Hope that he declines quickly due to age.

If we were happy with him not being re-signed, I guess we should be happy if he will be starting in Baltimore.

This was intentional by Baltimore in order to ensure PIT wouldn't get a comp pick. Waited for the deadline to pass. They were talking about it on the radio.

That is smart on their part..

and I can’t wait for Bmore to lose due to AV getting abused by Watt and Highsmith (not sure who’s side he is on).

I guess we’re ripping the band-aid off and going with who we got. Not saying it’s a bad thing. Looking forward to see how this turns out.

Baltimore said he’ll start out on the left side (Highsmith) and slide to the right side (Watt) when Ronnie Staley is healthy.

Probably worth a 5th round comp pick for us. Sucks to see a fine man sign with the rats.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

                    I agree.

But if there was more competition for his services, I don't think a deal like that would work.

And the lack of competition is probably because of (i) crappy cap situation for the league and (ii) decline due to age.

Hoping that (ii) gets cranked up this year.

My understanding is that it's past the deadline and will not factor into the comp formula.

I think it was time for change on the OL because guys were / are getting older.

But the transition might be rough.

Don't think there will be any comp pick at this point, will there? I think we've passed that deadline.

Sorry, but it's hard for me to see Chuks at LT as an upgrade. Maybe Moore will be able to step in early.

You’ll see other vets get released before the season. We may be able to pick someone up who’s serviceable on the cheap if needed.

                              Correct. 4/27 was the deadline.
