Roster moves ( in progress post)

Note this is on going post won't finish it right away...

draft came and went in a hurry, what do you expect before OTA that begin a few weeks ( is that whole team or rookie)?

First lets go quick roster (starters first, help me out doing it top of head... should we do 55 active roster or 90 camp bodies? ( in white startes, blue camp bodies, yellow possible lose position on depth, red past roster possible cuts)

    position lacks depth needs addressing

QB: Ben, Mason, Haskins ( I think this room stays as is)
RB/FB: Harris, Snell, Ballage, Samuels, McFarland, Watt, Edmunds ( Samules is odd man out, if Ballage can mirror as a poor man Harris)
WR: DJ, Juju, Claypool, Washington, Ray-Ray, ( I would love to get Ray-Ray out of here)
LT: Chucks, Moore, Haeg ( How great if Moore wins LT, but we should not count Chucks as being Sh*t)
LG: Dotson, Greene, Coward ( look at this depth, looks good)
OC: Finney, Greene ( Greene should beat him out, look at good depth)
RG: Decastro, Greene, Coward ( look at this depth, looks good)
RT: Banner, Moore, Haeg ( look at this depth especially if Chucks losses out as starting LT)
TE: Ebron, Freiermuth. Radar, Gentry (Ebron lives another year with us, he saves virtually nothing when cut this year, shame we didn't do it before March 1 and signed a cheap vet or 2)

DE: Heyward, Tuitt, Loudermilk ( maybe Laudermilk and this move does work out)
DT: Alualu, Wormley, Davis, Buggs (one of the 3 Good camp battle here for last NT fist fight again Davis vs Buggs)
OLB: Watt, Highsmith, Rooche, Marsh ( it doesn't look that bad when you considered we had Chicko and OLA as back ups just 2 years ago)
ILB: Busch, VW, Spilein, Buddy, Allen ( this is going to be an awesome camp battle, VET vs rising vs new blood)
CB: Hadden, Sutton, Layne, Pierre, Norwood ( Lord have mercy on us )
S: Fitz, Edmunds ( Need to remind my self to include this in my prayers, Please God, look over our starting safeties)

As we sit we are 10 million under cap, we like to go into season with 5 million. How much do we need to sign rookie contracta?
    Might restructure: Boswell and Tuitt
    Possible cuts: Berry

I think we need to address the DB room in a hurry, Layne in my opinion is going to be cut ( legal).
Possible adds: Hooker S, Poole CB ( 2.5-3 M each?)

Offensive Line, with Decastro & Dotson being a strong foundation, I think they help cover the C( learning curve) or OT.

I wouldn’t be 100% surprised if the Steelers take a look at some CBs, OLBs, and OL if the right players are out there.

I was thinking with all the OL talent in the draft, there may not be a big market for any leftover FAs giving us a chance to buy low.

That was 1st name that cam to mind, damn I just releized AV screwed us over not get a comp pic for him...

Thing is, I think no money not even for OL player with depth issue in DB.

out of box thinking, sign vet TE or 2, trade Ebron for a starting DB ( slot or safety, who would be another cap cut move for another team) We would have to eat his cap hit.

          post june 1 2021 dead cap: 3.4 save 1.12
          2022 dead cap: 3.9

I'm thinking some of these undrafted add-ons may help us out. Keep an eye on that Gilbert kid from Duke.

If he can get healthy, I think this kid has huge upside. But he’s been down for a couple years.

This would be great. Not sure we can do much over the minimum, but I'd feel better with an average starter at C.

I think minimum contracts are OK because they'll displace someone.

Then we'll probably have an extra million or two to play with if we restructure Tuitt and Boswell.

Maybe we can dummy extension Haden if we need more than that? But I think that really tanks next year's team (which may be a good thing?)
