Roche with the game sealing sack/fumble for the giants.
good thing the staff thought we needed to bring in a vet presence back up OLB.
that worked out really wellComment

The Steelers make decisions as an organization. It's been stated over and over that this is their philosophy. When one fails they all fail.Comment

Use your brain a bit here. A rookie vs Ingram. I would had taken Ingram in a heart beat over Roche.
Unfortunately, you............. I don't know what kind of "fan" of the Steelers you are at this point? What I do know is that you are a Tomlin hater. As a result, that appears to be your opinionated extension of the Steelers as an organization. Enough said.
Ingram was/is a better player than Roche. Roche was drafted in the 6th round by the Steelers. Come on man. The Steelers organization went with the better and more experienced player in an attempt to help the team win NOW. That's the reality and fact. What no one knew is that Ingram and the Steelers would not be a good fit for each other.
Tomlin spoke on this "issue" recently. You are a Tomlin hater so.............Last edited by BURGH86STEEL; 11-07-2021, 06:26 PM.Comment

"These last few games have been encouraging and I’m starting to change my tune on Ben’s wet noodle arm"
search that sentence and you can properly respond to it.Comment

here's a thread bringing up the same thing on another board. posters lamenting cutting someone who showed promise to keep a malcontent.
but you're right, who needs draft picks when the team is soooo active in free aency,

There will always be a reason to complain about who we released or who we acquired if you aren’t a fan of the coaching staff.Steelers 27

What I believe is that Ben wasn't performing consistently well enough. Especially on down the field throws. Ben showed some good things. The consistency was lacking from Ben. Some was on Ben. Some was on the Oline. Some was on the WRs. Some was on penalties that made it difficult for the offense to develop rhythm and sustain drives.
At least what I am bringing is some logical thoughts and analysis to the equation. Not simply stating management blah blah blah Roche............ I understood why the organization choose Ingram over Roche. It didn't work out. So be it.Comment

Nah bro. Opinions can change. Criticisms are criticisms. I never thought Ben had a wet noodle arm. Others responded.

so you have no problem criticizing the current QB of the pittsburgh steelers. is that correct?Comment

The fact that you want to compare Ingram to Roche says it all. Come one man. You need to do better than this.Comment

If we take Roche instead of Ingram (who wasn’t a malcontent at the time) these same people would bash the teams for not taking Ingram when he would make a play for another team.
There will always be a reason to complain about who we released or who we acquired if you aren’t a fan of the coaching staff.
For Ingram's part, he won't admit that he viewed himself as "a hostage." “I don’t know what he means,” Ingram said (referring to Tomlin's statement). “You should probably ask him what he meant. I don’t know. I ain’t never been a hostage.” Makes me wonder if the Steelers could have convinced him to stay and play, if they'd only extended a bit more effort.Comment
