I guess you can trust his decision to throw it but it was the wrong decision and it was almost picked off.
We all saw it; he would have scored. Yes he was the league MVP but he made a bad decision there.

If he was too intimidated to run it in and possibly take a hit for it then the Bucs defense did it’s job; intimidation from pain IS the defenses job.

So he can’t blame the GM for that because he was afraid to get hit. Remember, we saw the hit Elway took in the Super Bowl against the Falcons when he ran it in. He was willing to take the hit to score. He wanted it that bad.

    Food for thought.

but Quarterbacking is pretty easy from the couch in our living rooms.

reality is he just stepped up to avoid the rush and had little idea if a buccaneer is closing in on him

in this video they have a couple of views and explain what else could have going on in his thought process

In real time, I thought he could run it in.

But looking at about 3:15 on the video here, the defender on the outside of Lazard would have had a pretty clear path to Rogers. His momentum is carrying him to the middle of the field. But you can see from the video that his head is up and he's looking right at Rogers. I think he can change direction and catch the old man before he breaks the plane.

The defender in the corner would have a good shot at it too. It's kind of a long way to run for him to get to the pylon I think.

yes, and i thought the guy in the video made a good point about the time left on the clock.
score on that play and you have over 2 mins 3 TOs and the 2 minute warning. probably enough to get the ball back even if Tampa does get a 1st down (depending what down they get it)
if he's tackled before the end zone, that scenario would obviously change.
it could have been a thought in the back of his mind

Rodgers is damn near a God in Green Bay. You can't have it much better than what he's got now. He needs to take stock of that.

Manning was a God in Indy
            Montana in SF
            Favre in GB
            Franco Harris in Pittsburgh

Finishing a career elsewhere doesn’t change that if the FO and player can’t agree on that last contract.

For those still thinking Rodgers moves from GB cause he wants a ring I give you this; he's faced the gauntlet of Garropolo (twice), Brady, Wilson in his last four playoffs. He's lost to Garropolo twice and Brady. He beat Wilson. Brady is out of the picture, Garropolo likely is as well. So who's left in the NFC that will challenge? Stafford, and maybe Dak. If he jumps to the AFC (Denver?) he's gonna face the gauntlet of Mahommes, Burrow, Herbert, and Allen until he retires. I don't see it happening. Rodgers stays put because it's the easiest path to a SB. This also means that Denver may be a surprise to pick a QB in this draft cause I don't see them sticking with Bridgewater.

Rumors were he wanted Denver because his girlfriend Shailene Woodley had a home there. Saw yesterday they are no longer together

No.. this doesn’t make any sense.

                      Rodgers is 1-6 in championship
games in the NFC. Why would he believe its easier in the NFC?

The problem with the QB vs QB narrative is while its great for talk shows the reality is its Rodgers vs the SF defense and Tampa defense.

I actually think watching the Bills and KC game is a prime example of why Rodgers would want to come to the AFC.

If he leaves GB, I think it will be because of the cap situation. They might need to get rid of him to deal with the $50M they are over. And he might not want to stay if it means that they have to get rid of a bunch of guys and the team gets worse.

I don't know enough about the situation to know how easy it would be for them to push that cap hit around.

                          fine.

Favre made an NFCCG with the Vikings

Montana went to KC and he dragged them to the playoffs.

Franco not so much but he was done and should’ve retired.

I remember Franco in Seattle. It was sad. He was a shell of his former self.

i've read about that on the denver angle and thought.

yeah, like he couldn't afford a home in any other city

Yeah they basically either need to extend him or ship him out of town. As bad as the Packers' cap situation looks they can basically get under the cap with 4 moves
                                - Cut/Trade Rodgers post June 1
                                - Cut Za'Darius Smith (didn't play last year)
                                - Cut Randall Cobb (probably their 3rd or 4th WR at best)
                                - Cut Marcedes Lewis (38 and Big Bob Tonyan should be back)

They'll have to find more money for the draft class and FAs. They can get draft class room if the do a restructure with Bakhtiari and find some more room with a Kenny Clark restructure. Cut Preston Smith and they're up to ~$30MM in cap space (~$22MM after the draft class is figured in).

Of course they have a decent list of FAs to consider including basically their entire receiving corps. They had to know this was coming though. I mean at some point you have to get that 1st round rookie QB on the field. They have ~$110MM in cap space they can play with next year too. Granted they may choose to push money onto that to keep guys in town but they have an opportunity to do basically a total reset. This year could be rough but they'll be well positioned going forward.
