    Skl 2021 final mock draft

Here we are!! Happy Draft Eve everyone. after much deliberation here is my final mock draft of the year. Ideally I'd love to trade down a few picks in the 1st and get an extra 3rd and the use that 3rd to trade up in the 2nd. If that doesn't happen I'm comfortable drafting these guys at our original position.

1/24/??- Asante Samuel Jr- CB-FSU I know Colbert has a terrible draft record on CB's. But in reality he's only invested 1 first rd pick in a CB and Artie Burns was more Tomlin's boy than Colberts. Asante Samuel Jr. will break that trend. The Steelers and Tomlin love NFL bloodlines and this kid is a chip off the old block. Put him in at Slot or outside. He can play anywhere.

2/55/??-Creed Humphrey-C-OU- the best Center in the draft, put him in the middle for next 10 years and sleep easy

    3/87-Trey Sermon-RB-OSU/OU-
I have a unique perspective on Sermon as I have followed him his entire career. At OU he was part of a rotational backfield. More often than not he was the starter. However at OU there are always 3-4 RB's who get the ball. When Sermon was there he split carries with Rodney Anderson and Kennedy Brooks and Rhamondre Stevenson. All 3 of which are career 6 yard per carry backs (Sermon is also). OU has had this type of approach for as long as I can remember, even when they had Adrian Peterson, plenty of other backs got work. It's part of their recruiting pitch. Come show you can be a stud and we won't run the wheels off you. You can still have plenty of tread for the NFL. One thing I know for sure. Whenever Trey Sermon carries the rock he produces. As evidenced in his short season at Ohio St. also.
Trey Sermon career attempts 455 YPC=6.47
Najee Harris career attempts 638 YPC=6.02

4/128- Stone Forsythe-OT-Florida Very little difference between Stone and some of the guys who will get drafted in round 2. Excellent size and outstanding athlete. Our next Villanueva. 2022 starter

4/140 Patrick Johnson-OLB-Tulane FOOTBALL PLAYER!!! Excellent production and consistency. Can be a rotational player immediately. Knows how to rush the passer

6/216 Tre McKitty-TE-UGA raw!! Ideal size with good NFL frame. High ceiling. Will be a better pro than college player

7/245 Whop Philyor-WR-Indiana all he does is produce. Not afraid to do all the over the middle dirty work. Could thrive in Canada's system. Think about what potential you wanted Eli Rogers to fill and Whop will get it done for you.

    7/254 Tariq Thompson-S-SDSU Jordan Dangerfield's replacement

I like this draft. I could live with it. Oddly I've seen Asante Samuel, Jr. go as low as a 3rd round pick. The draft is still a little smoke-and-mirrors, not a true science.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I saw that too. Crazy. I hear we are looking at the CB from Kentucky. Gonna be interesting.

if we miss out on the top 3 and really do like Sermon that much, we'll have to take him in Round 2.

Really? He's slight faster version of Benny Snell who seems to lack vision and explosive cutting ability. Guys a little injury prone and didn't play in the senior bowl or at times in 2019. Solid at at a few things, not special at anything. Runs little high. Don't want him as the #1 Steeler back.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I like Stone Forsythe in round 4. He's an SEC game tested Left Tackle who was charged with keeping the slow footed Trask upright while being a part of a Gators offense that exploded. He worked out very well movement wise for a man his size. We'll be lucky to draft him in round four. A semi mobile giant type. I see a Max Starks type of player. Our tackles suck so bad, yes a 4th round pick can beat either of them out, especially an experienced player from a big time conference.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa

I'm really missing the Sermon hype. Guy isn't fast and didn't produce in college until his last 4-5 games.

there have been several reports that the Steelers really like his game, Tomlin reportedly told Sermon at his Pro Day "You're a Steeler."
