    Chuck's Final Mock

Man, the draft is upon us. There are literally quite a few ways the Steelers could go this year so this is pretty much a shot in the dark.

1.) Teven Jenkins (OT ), Oklahoma State - His stock is rising, if he's not there we still go OT, maybe Mayfield. Wyatt Davis a wildcard here as well. Could easily be looking at CB now as well.

2.) RaMonde Stevenson (RB), Oklahoma - I think we go RB n the second round. It wouldn't surprise me if Harris or Etienne slips thru round 1 the Steelers move up in round 2 and snag one of the (ala L. Bell).

3.) Josh Myers , (C), Ohio State - I doubt Humphrey or Dickerson is still on the board, so we grab Myers. We will go center in one of the first 3 rounds.

4a.) Elijah Molden, (CB), Washington - All of a sudden with Layne arrest CB becomes a priority. Not sure he lasts this long but look for CB under the spotlight.

4b.) Baron Brown, (ILB), Ohio State

6a.) Tedarrell Slaton, (NT), Florida State

    7a.) Quincy Roche, (OLB), Miami

7b.) Tariq Thompson, (S), San Diego State

Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I’ll be happy if I get one. A few years back I predicted 3 I think.

3 is an awesome amount to get right!!!

I'm definitely on board with drafting every single one of your choices.

I'm not big fans of a RT only guy in round one. A RB few are talking about ( that could go in round three ) and a sinking Josh Meyers who doesn't seem to block his man as well as other Centers.

Sometimes you take what the draft best gives you. I'd rather go RB in round one and take either Etienne or Harris. Those guys are difference makers. The Steelers might need to go corner in round two to get a decent one, then go OL in round 3 and 4.

          1. RB Travis Etienne
          2 CB Arron Robinson
          3 C Quinn Meinerz
          4 T Stone Forsythe

Looking at the defense, Watt and Fitzpatrick will be good a few years from now, cornerback will be an issue with Haden GONE.Hence the need we get someone at corner in this draft.

I have Eitenne# 1 now, because I think he's the big play machine this offense needs that seemingly fits what the OC wants best as a pass catcher. So what if he's not a good 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 type of back. We have that covered with Snell. Who can rip of 20 yard runs or is fast enough to make up for sub par blocking? Etienne best fits the bill. Even tough he's not an all around type, he has that running ability and speed. His acceleration form 0-max speed to me is impressive. No one else, except mayne 1-2 WR's have it. We are talking about a running back here. I wonder if we could use him right with a spread offense, draws, and off tackle types of runs?

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Corner sure has become a priority. In the passing league that is the current NFL you can't have enough good corners. Our ability there or lack there of to evaluate talent has hurt us big time. Some really good db's out there this year. We got to get ourselves one.

we may even have to draft two CBs this year.

we have lost Nelson, Hilton and who knows about Layne now...

Good point. I like your sig draft picks. However I look at Harris now and though I like him ,who doesn't, if a stud corner is there I would go there and try to find a running back later. Not feeling comfortable about that with our track record but the need is there.

I don’t like a RB in the 1st due to their average shelf life, maybe 5 or 6 years. You take a top Olineman, barring injury pencil him in for 10 to 12 years (I.e. Pouncey, DeCastro). I think round 2 is about right for a RB this year.

Robinson is a very good CB. Watched him his whole career. Not sure he lasts to #55

Do you believe in small school corners? Exactly who did he shut down? He can can ball, but who did he prove it against? That's why I think he's going in round two.

On cornerbacks, the position has become much harder, or the receiver poison has become too good to satisfy most fans expectations of corners. This WR is loaded. The corner class isn't bad, but next to the WR's whom they match up with it looks that way.
