Maybe we hire Cowher back to drop us to 5 or 6 wins? Then we might get out next Ben!!!
only if we force Cowher not to draft Shawn Andrews' son and make him draft the next Ben instead.

Where in this thread did I say I wanted Tomlin fired? I applauded his extension. We don’t know what’s going to happen this season. Not looking at that killer schedule we have. I would think we would only bottom out at 7 wins but who knows? Injuries;, not adequately filling needs on defense, anything can happen.

But having an opportunity to trade up to get a franchise QB would be nice.

I don't know what meds can do nowadays for this condition but years ago I had a boss with it. Every once in awhile when talking with him you would get a blank stare and silence. Like something was going on upstairs. But 99% of the time he was fine. Fast forward many years later after he left the company I heard his condition was so bad he had to have live-in help.

I have Jones and Fields off the radar. Neither will fall close to us, and if they do fall teams with a higher pick will trade up for him.

The goal this draft should be to fix the OL and Running game. We can do that. If the Steelers want to take a shot with Davis in round 2-3, okay.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I find it amazing that Jones is even graded as a first round talent let alone a top 5 pick. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

So, for me, that's the minimum I take for next year's first if I"m trading because that's the worst it could be. You trade your 1st round pick next year and win the super bowl so the team gets 1.32. Maybe, I'm missing something but that seems to be the logical way to assign the value.

I think the thinking here is that the future pick is in the future and not the present.

It's like the time value of money.

If you were choosing between the 32nd pick this year and someone else's first rounder next year, I think I'd value the 32nd pick this year higher.

Because the next year's first is nothing for this year, plus something unknown for next year.

And this year's first is something (presumably pretty good) this year, and a player with a year of development next year.

Note: 340 is the value on the chart I listed for the 24th pick in the 2nd (because we currently have the 24th pick in the 1st). Maybe that's a bad way of estimate it? I thought that was the rule of thumb.

Teams might value it differently if they speculate that we'll finish worse next year. I think that's why Miami accepted our trade for Fitz, because they thought we'd be very bad. And we were just average.

Justin Fields confirms to NFL teams that he’s managing epilepsy I wonder if that hurts his draft spot?

Could cause him to drop like a rock

Head injuries cause/aggravate epilepsy. Not good for a collision sport

Just when you thought the draft was just starting to settle... there comes a new tidal wave.

this shouldn’t be an issue in 2021.

Its a big deal because concussions will aggravate it.

Not only that but anti-epileptic medications slow reaction time.

                              Interesting new (cough cough) development.

has he had concussions in college? How did they effect him there?

if he’s been dealing with this his whole life, why are questions regarding it just coming out now

sounds more like a team floating this information out there In the hope that he drops to them.
Did the questions originate from the Massachusetts area ? Lol

SF will eventually wake up and take Fields at #3.
