        Not convinced this would happen because;

        a) Belichick understands the value of a cheap QB in building a roster; yes he would have a rookie QB contract but chances are he's not going to win a SB in his first 4 seasons

        b) a first rd QB comes with a pricey 5th yr option - so you are either paying the guy or dumping him in 4 yrs

        c) most important - he wants to prove to the everyone he can win a SB without a franchise QB. The Brady greatness haunts him until this happens.

I don't think Dobbs matters for drafting a 1sy round guy if one falls that they like.

Without knowing the contract, my guess is that it's virtually all salary and will have no impact on the cap if he's cut.

Getting cut has to be the expected result for Dobbs. Unless Haskins flames out.

But I also think they won't draft a QB late now, and that's good news IMO.

We are on a great position to move up for a qb this year. We should do it.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

The Steelers already have an Ohio State QB bust on the roster so why would they want to bring in another one?
Obviously the standard is the standard.

No we are not in a great position to move up. This team has multiple starting needs and depth. This isn't the draft to be giving picks away.

Exactly...and I'd imagine Cardelle Jones is available if needed.

Because he’s not going to be a bust.

Justin Fields only has to be slightly better than Mike Tomczak in order to be considered the greatest Buckeye QB in NFL history and I don’t even see that happening.

Ohio State QBs now have a much better opportunity under Ryan Day to be prepared for the NFL. Fields pro day shows the kid is polished both in accuracy and mobility.

The draft is a crap shoot but IMO Fields will be a good one.

If Fields is there at 24 we take him.
You have to....however I think he's gone and its all about 2021.
The Steelers cross the 2022 bridge when they get there.

Yea we are. This years and next years first. Still have picks for oline and rb. Next year have extra picks and tons of cap space to fill voids.

It was just reported that Justin Fields has Epilepsy. That may be why there's been talk of him dropping. He says he's managed it and it hasn't been an issue but that may be the reason.
