Nelson was average and expensive this year.
Nelson probably said no to an extension/restructure
Hilton was a liability in coverage so maybe we replace him with a DB who can actually cover????

Nelson was better than average with our pass rush. We'll see how he does this season. Still this is a significant loss.

I think its more important to see how his replacement compares to Nelson.

Doesn’t really matter what Nelson does for someone else.

Meh, he pretty much HAS been. UNLESS we take a top-flight CB in the draft, I'd say starting CB is Sutton's job to lose.

at some point, I have to think the Boss will get what he asks for.
if the conversation turns to a defensive player maybe he'll bring up the stats on the offense vs. the defense last year, pointing out the lack of running game

maybe he says "can you idiots put together a good defense without so many high picks, the rest of the league seems to be able to"
