Okay, I'm here to eat a little crow as I did not think he had this type of speed and agility. Not bad leaping ability for a big man either. This center draft class is excellent. I still wish he proved it at the senior bowl week but after a workout like this, he's not a just power blocking plodder. Actually his workout compares favorable to Pouncey. Humphrey's draft grade goes up to early 2nd to mid second round pick. I doubt he's on the board for us.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

My #1 choice for a Center from Day 1.

I want no parts of Landon D from AL and his injury history. Draft him and we guarantee we see a lot of JC and Finney.

I'm with you, Landon plays really well, but that injury history...

I always like it when posters have the courage to say the three hardest words in the English language: "I was wrong".

        I appreciate you manning up.

So your saying trade down from 24 to like 29/30, picking up an additional 2nd round pick and pull the trigger with our first 2nd round pick?

we wouldn't get an additional 2nd round pick, only a 3rd.

but then you think we could trade up to #1 and draft Trevor Lawrence using only ALMOST all of our picks so I'm not surprised you have no clue.

IMHO Humphrey and Dickerson even with his red flag are good 2nd round values. Myers and Meinerz 3rd rounders and Hill of Georgia would be in play in round 4. Fortunate for us center this year is rather deep.
Off topic but Joel I still have a few "Scouts Note Books " from the late 80's. That was from "The Joel Buchsbaum" who was super talented in gathering info. The Kiper before Kiper. He also wrote those college scouting reports for Pro Football Weekly . Shame he passed away.

When it comes to the draft, the more information you have, the better. As new information comes in, you should change your mind. In this case I thought Humphrey was a bit slower that he tested. His arms are shorter than average, but the rest is excellent.

On Arms you want 32 1/2" or better for a C./G and 34" or better for a OT

So many options at # 24. As usual, it will be interesting to see what is a priority to Colbert & crew. Just hoping all those QB's go ahead of us to maximize our choices.

most likely 5 QBs wll be drafted ahead of us.

that's pretty much already factored in.

I don't know about that. A lot of teams are using free agency or resigning they guy, There may only be 4 QB's taken by pick #24 and since this is a good QB class, and the Class of 2022 is not viewed as strong ( But that could change with another season ) the Steelers might get their man now, and let him learn under Ben and play some as I do not see Ben playing a full 17 game schedule at his age.

Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance and Mac Jones will all be gone by pick #24.

if the Steelers draft a QB, it won't be one of those 5 unless they trade up.
