Steelers missed on Humphrey, Freiermuth is good but Creed is a stud who could have anchored the middle of our OL for the next 10 years.

NFL careers shouldn't be view as 10 years at this point. The majority of players that make it into the NFL don't last 10 years with the same team.

The Steelers didn't miss. The Steelers choose to select another player that was just as good a value in the 2nd round.

I really would like to know the real reason the Steelers didn't even attend Humphrey's pro day.

we had the need at center, were we that set on drafting Kendrick Green?

I don't believe any of those who are saying the Steelers missed are suggesting that they missed with Muth. What are the suggesting is they missed with Green. And the fact they didn't even go to Creed's pro day is an indication of how badly they were off on their man crush on Green.

              That was the miss.

I took a look to see if they could've done something to move up (via the points) to get both based on where they were drafted. It would've been pretty costly (and pretty much clean out their draft last year along with probably a day 2 pick this year. So they are where they are with the choice they made and yes hindsight is 20/20. But there were quite a few who wanted Humphrey so they can say that was a lost opportunity.

While you statement about it takes 10 years is accurate...unless something clicks Green was a huge miss (and I do realize it was the third round - but they overlooked it for two rounds for him so yes I consider it an urgent need that waited until the 3rd round and hence a huge miss).

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

An epic blunder but we have to move on. Water under the bridge.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

What I have heard many say, and say that they were saying the same thing at the draft, is that they would have gone Creed in the first and then Muth is fine in the second. I'm not enough of a CFB viewer to have much of an opinion on individual players, but what I have said often is that you can't always ignore the line. Whether Teven Jenkins or Creed last year, Cushenberry over Claypool in 2020, not trading away draft picks in '19 etc. you can't have ignored the line for so many years while yours ages.
