Another Baldy breakdown, this time George Kittle.

Some video clips. I want this type of blocking that he's talking about. Termble sounds like a smart guy. 1:24 mark Later compared to George Kittle.

I don't think a team that won a super bowl features the TE as their #1 receiver. I do want our TE to block well, run well and catch it. This player can improve our run blocking, a major need. If he proves to catch it well, can replace the moody and inconstant Ebron, who costs a ton and blocks like a receiver. Tremble is projected to work out well. The speed should be there. We'll see.

Warming up to this guy being our 3rd round pick.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I don't know anything about the player. But I would love to have a versatile Heath type TE again.

I don't watch NCAA, but my understanding is that college TE's basically don't block anymore so most guys take at least a year to fit in at the NFL level.

No doubt there’s a need for us. And we have Ebron for another year as the declared pass catching TE. If this kid can come in and really block , it would be a big plus for us.

And when comp picks get handed out, I think we’ll get another 3rd round pick so taking him in thr 3rd seems like a smart move.

the Steelers would be so much better offensively if only we had a Kittle, Gronk, Kelce type of TE.

I know every team would love to have one, but we really need one also.

                87. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame

With Vance McDonald’s retirement, the Steelers need a reliable tight end who can block and catch. Eric Ebron isn’t that kind of player. Tommy Tremble wasn’t often targeted, but he excelled in both blocking and receiving. He would provide a security blanket over the middle of the field for whoever is the Steelers’ next quarterback.

With the Senior Bowl over and Matthew Stafford headed to Los Angeles, it's the perfect time for a new 2021 7-round NFL Mock Draft.

Norte Dame has a highly regarded freshman Tight End, so Tremble was not a primary target. But when they threw it to him, he caught it. Blocks like a small mobile tackle, runs like a receiver, catches it when the ball comes his way. A football player. I don't like Ebron at all. ( inconstancy and cap ). This player gives top effort and will help our anemic ground game.

It will interesting to see what happens in the draft this year. As many have noted, it's a copy cat league, and the Super Bowl showed importance of good offensive line play, especially when complemented by TEs with good blocking ability.

So that may cause players at those positions to get drafted a little earlier than previously thought. The free agency period may give some hints about how this will shake out.

Eight of the biggest sleepers in the 2021 NFL Draft class

                      TE TOMMY TREMBLE, NOTRE DAME

Tremble possesses two traits that are incredibly rare for a tight end prospect: legit speed and run-blocking ability. He led all tight ends in the FBS this season in run-blocking grade. Tremble won’t garner much attention because he wasn’t even the No. 1 option at tight end on his own college team, but in his defense, freshman Michael Mayer will likely be a first-rounder in a couple of years. Tremble is the perfect fullback for any team in need of such a thing and can be a mismatch with his speed as a blocking tight end.

North Texas wide receiver Jaelon Dardon, who racked up 19 touchdowns in 2020, is one sleeper heading into the 2021 NFL Draft.

He would be a great addition as a 3rd rounder. If we don’t pick him there and he’s still available at our next pick in the 4th, run to the podium.

Look at some of Kittle’s tape if you want to see the positive effect a great blocking TE can have in the run game. We desperately need that.

I like it. Bringing some physicality back to our run game is a good thing.

tiproast posted a nice vid of Gronk doing the same thing for Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl.

we have neglected the TE position long enough.
