Then you have Tomlin who was a bad player and is a marginal coach. So who knows.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

a lot of great players were awful coaches.

Not saying he is ready but dude has a melon on his shoulders.
Lots of non great players can be coaches. I don't think anyone is saying that he can't be a good coach because he wasn't an especially good player.

I think many of us pointed out that turning around from being a not very good player to coaching the same guys you were playing with (behind) probably isn't the best path to success.

Coaches need to have some kind of air of authority IMO. I just don't think he'd have that in this case. Especially not as the full blown QB coach. Maybe as an assistant to a coach or a trial run in training camp like other former players have done (Faneca I think).

Again, the fact that he was doing aerospace stuff while on the team suggests he might go back to doing the thing he trained for in school. I bet he'd be a great voice for science awareness. Someone like Physics Girl, or podcasts like Radiolab that are funded by Sloan and NSF. Except he'd be way cooler because he played in the NFL. Probably not as lucrative as coaching...but maybe more rewarding.
