I don't get why they want to sign Lamar to long term so quick.
To save money? I’m sure if they wait his price will go up a few mill next year. They are probably going to try and do a Mahomes type contract as well.

He'll wait for guy he's see to break open, rather than throw it to a spot. Coming into his 4th season, I think he's about as good as he's going to get as a passer.

In his last seven games he has only thrown for 186, 107, 243 ( Vs Jax ) , 183, 113, 179, and 162 yards passing with 6 interceptions and 1 fumble lost. This sucks. That's who is as a passer. Fortunately for him he has a good defense, a great ground game, and a good offensive line to work with, so his running here works. Jackson is a great running QB, no doubt. But he's not as durable as a back, and its going to catch up on him. Just wait for it.

I think the NFL and the Steelers have figured him out with a 4-2-5 defense. If you take away his Tight End Andrews, he really struggles to move the chains as a passer. If the Ravens are behind, they are in some trouble.

IMO, the NFL is starting to catch up to these extremely mobile QB's. The middle linebacker position might change a bit to more of a hybrid type of ILB/DB as a result. A player who's got 4.4 -4.5 speed, some coverage ability and can tackle. This type of starter won't be a great box defender, but given the limited running by backs these days, I think that's all right. We might have that player on the roster with Bush. We had one in Shazier.
Not starting to catch up; The NFL has always caught up to these type of QB's. Steven Grogan in the 70's; a young Randall Cunningham, Vick, Vince Young, Kapernick, Tim Tebow. All those guys came out like a house on fire because of their running ability and the league caught up to them and exposed them for the frauds they were. Took longer on some then others but the league eventually got rid of those guys. Always have and always will. The QB position is about being able to pass...not run. Ultimately, it caught up to them. LJ will fretter away just like Kapernick did and waste valuable years of an overall good Ravens team .

you predicted that Lamar Jackson would be a total flop in the NFL.

why would the Ravens give him a huge contract if that were the case?

sounds like you were as wrong as wrong can be.

He’a not a great passer but he is good enough to win a boatload of games and make the playoffs.. and the more you make the playoffs the better your chances are at eventually breaking thru to a championship game.
The Ravens are a good team. The left guard is also 5-1 in this six games which featured Dallas, Jacksonville ( His only 200 yard passing game ) the NY Giants, and Cincinnati. 4 very bad teams.

I was talking about Jackson as a passer. His passing stats vs playoff team are

1 275 vs Cleveland, his year high in game one.
          2. 97 vs Kansas City
          3. 193 vs Washington
          4. 208 vs the Steelers
          5. 170 vs Indianapolis
          6. 186 vs Tennessee
          7. 163 vs Cleveland
          8. 179 vs Tennessee
          9. 163 vs Buffalo

In these 9 games he was intercepted 6 times, and lost 5 fumbles. 11 total turnovers.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

4 very bad defense that LJ could use his running ability on. But when he sees a legit defense he can’t run on, he goes belly up. Like he has his entire pro career.

I was talking about Jackson as a passer. His record vs playoff teams played is 4 wins, 4 losses. And one of those wins is Washington, who had a losing record. 2 of them came vs Cleveland, well I should not talk much about Cleveland.
Trams have to play the schedule they were given. We also had a game against Cleveland, Cincinnati and Washington and we lost all of them.

Washingtons defense is also really good.

Randall was a fraud? Sure seemed
like he has a great career and almost made a SB with Minnesota.

Vick was a fraud? He went to jail, came back and earned a $100 mill contract with the Eagles.

when you call players who had good careers frauds because they didnt win a SB it makes you look foolish.

Now, if all you said was LJ wouldn’t win a SB you would have been much better off. But then again, plenty of traditional passing QB’s don’t win SB’s.
