This guys credentials other than being on this forum for a while are what? His Oklahoma centric draft would get the Steelers killed. Glad he's not in charge.

Analysis: Winners and Losers From Day 1 of Senior BowlPublished 2 hours ago on January 27, 2021

    By Nick Farabaugh

MOBILE, Ala. — As Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy says, the draft starts in Mobile. The Senior Bowl got off to a start on Tuesday as the National and American teams had their first day of practice. Some star, highly sought after players took the field while others were looking to prove themselves. Who are the losers and winners of Day 1?

    Winner: Creed Humphrey

One of the biggest, if not the biggest winner of the day was Oklahoma’s Creed Humphrey. Vying for the top center spot in the 2021 NFL Draft, Humphrey put on a show on Tuesday. In one-on-ones, Humphrey stonewalled everyone he faced on the day. Top defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike was forced completely into the left guard after Humphrey overpowered him. It was a dominant performance. In the team session, Humphrey executed excellent reach blocks and appeared comfortable moving laterally. He is not the best athlete, but it certainly seems he is more than functionally fine. Humphrey will make some team happy once drafted, and it could be Pittsburgh.

A rift is between Hawaiiansteel and Steelmanic.... they have their right (as anoying as it is)... now that's a rift!

There is no attacking just heated debate...

Steeler Key Largo, so you know Joel, is one of my favorite posters on here. very informative, logical, and polite. Never seen him get defensive or offensive on this board. ( and I think from the original Tribune forum from 2000.
Don't really remember his resume, since I been on forums with him over 20 years... He is a former scout with connections in the NFL.

+1 I love SKL's input, especially around this time of year.

I've moved on from his attack. A former scout? With who BLESTO?

Speaking of scouts it's a tough life. Hours of road time ( Most teams include a car for their scouts car ), eyes that bleed from watching too much film, and they really don't pay that much money when you factor in the hours worked. It has changed a bit due to technology.

When it comes to feud, such as the mentioned Hawaiiansteel and Steelmanic I basically ignore board wars, but may pop in to sort out false information.

The slate is clean. Let's see what Key Largo has to offer about the draft. I watched practice #1 on the senior bowl and took a look at some of the measurements. QB Jones measured out well and has relatively big hands for a QB. He looked like a smooth pro in limited attempts. WR Amari Rodgers looked real good as WR, and we could use one for the slot when we lose Ju-Ju in free agency. Based on what I saw he's polished, runs top routes, catches it well with his hands, and can separate. Although WR is not a huge need, I'd be okay with him as a luxury pick in round three.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I was thinking that too we might need a slot, although not at the combine I been looking into RB Gainwell to fill out that role, just like how Hunt does it. He seems ideal in a Canada based offense where jetsweeps, and isolation plays in space for play makers. Keep getting comparison to Gibson in Washington.

the day Steel Maniac apologizes for what he said our rift will be over.

a word of advice to you, don't pop in.

We do need a good slot receiver. Rodgers looks like a really good one.

I still like Mac Jones in round one for us. He's doing really well. See Louis Riddick's tweet.

I saw Quinn Meinerz's stuff at the senior bowl. For a guy with gut like he sure can jump. He's also very strong, and doing unusually well for such as small school player. Quite a character too, pancaking trees? Never saw that before. Let's see if he can do it again in practice and follow it up with a good game.

Coming from such as small school, his technique might be lacking. We'll see.
