A 3rd to 4th round pick @ QB that has NFL starting ability? Meet Phil Jurkovec

Who? He's only started 10 games after transferring from Norte Dame to Boston College, but the announcers were comparing him to a young Big Ben. After watching him you can see why. Phil threw for 300 yards in 4 of 10 games, with 2,558 yards, 17TD's, 5 INT's. While the 3rd year sophomore need some polish, the tools are there. He's big, he's got an arm, he can run some and buy time and his teammates respond to him. A nice player to gamble on if the Steelers do not pick a QB high.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I watched him play against Clemson and he was awesome. I was getting ready to post about him during the first half...

but then he totally shrank in the second half and looked horrible.

He’s big, has a nice arm but when it was time to make plays in crunch time he didn’t look good.

That was the only game I watched of BC last year.

Hmmmm ... could be the perfect complement to Ben. Since Ben usually doesn't play well in the first half, we start with Jurkovec and bring #7 in for the second half.

Well he only started one year and this was at Clemson. Phil was 12-24, 204 yards TD's, 0 INT. Not a bad game, his team lost 28-34. Clemson DL was too much. BC finished the year 6-5.

But as far as QB tools go, he's got it. I think he grew up a Steelers fan.

Yes, he has. I would say in school one more year if I were him. He could really improve his stock. I have a feeling some team might pick him before our pick in round three.

No he has not! Nor should he.
