tempting but no, it doesn't solve anything.

    Still over cap..
    Bad OL
    No RB
    No real depth
D might take a step back next year.

I’m not sure Darnold is worth a high pick. Looks like damaged goods to me.

I would not give a first-rounder for Darnold at this point ... I think we might be able to get him for a lower pick

Is he really a bona-fide, long-term type franchise QB?

I'm thinking for a fourth, maybe a third. I am not against the idea of grabbing a guy like him. I'd even bring in Trubisky for cheap and let him compete with MR, but only for very low risk and commitment with an eye towards looking for your cornerstone QB in the '22 draft. I don't see Rudolph as the QB of the future, but I'm fine letting him be the placeholder until we find one.

              I wouldn’t give a 1st either.

but I’d think about a 2nd or lower.
he has his flaws but being in nyc area I see the highlights of his play. And getting drafted that high, he certainly has the tools

low pick ( maybe a 3rd gets it done) and a cheap cap hit for 2 years is all the risk we would take on to see if he was worth all the hype

ive seen enough of trubinsky to say I wouldn’t want him to be our starter.

I don't think it takes a 1st, especially if they take fields...

I loved him coming out of the draft, but he has struggled seriously. Makes you wonder if he excelled at USC because of all the talent around him... I'd give a 3rd, but not much more

Those are the questions that will be answered in the coming months.

Over 3 seasons – 59.8 completion rate. 45 TDs – 39 INTs. This season he had the third lowest completion rate. Yards thrown this year were just ahead of Dalton and Fitzpatrick and they were not starters for a good portion of the season.

So far, mediocre would be a step up for him. 1st or 2nd rounder – hard NO! Not sure I’d give a third either.

Hang up the phone. Darnold is not as good as Mason Rudolph. Another USC QB failure

Darnold is not that good.. especially with this OL, he will be seeing ghost in practice.
