    Was Ben Hurt?

Ben used to be such a drama queen sometimes going as far as overemphasizing injuries to make his play seem more heroic.

But he never talked about injuries much this season.

Maybe that's an indicator that he's really been hurting this year.

He really did turn into a statue in the pocket. He had no legs whatsoever. We never ran him on 3rd or 4th and short. He couldn't often step into throws. He made a lot of scared throws that turned into turnovers. Plus he was having a hard time throwing much past the LOS most of the time.

Something is fishy because Ben made us forget, he's a drama queen. He just wasn't this season. Either he was really hurt or he just doesn't care. Something was off.

    I think Ben has changed.

I am not questioning his heart, but it seems as if his family and God has become a bigger focus in his life.

He hasn't checked out yet mentally, but it is boarder line...

The offensive scheme went WAY out of its way to protect Ben this season. They were protecting something. Either an injury or just arthritic knees that can't take any more punishment.

Either way, Ben doesn't play like he used to. I don't see another ring in his career. Time to move on.

I hope the same goes for Brady. He's played pretty well this year but I hope we never see him in another super bowl.

I think when you're in you're 38, it's hard to shrug off big hits from whoever the modern equivalent of Suggs is and then bomb it down the field.

He’s old.. and his body probably feels like he is 50.

same thing happened to Peyton and Eli. Just seemed like they woke up and the game passed them by. Peyton went out on top but he was a shell.

I completely disagree 110% with you on that. You see him sitting on the bench last night after the game? He cares, and he wants another SB in the worst way. I don't know what he will do with his life after football, but I do not think he is ready to hang it up.

He has mentioned in past PC's that he is dealing with arthritis in his knees. I am 52 and now have it too, the winter really sucks.

All the QB's point to Brady and say "gee I can play until I'm 42". But what they have a hard time appreciating is the effort Brady puts in to stay healthy. Dude is a health freak. And sometimes genes play a bigger part than most of us can appreciate.

Seems like there was an injury in the Dallas game. They called it funny bone, I think. If he played shame on him and the Steelers.

I really think the FO and staff need to sit down and put that steeler logo in front of them and all need to answer the question... What does this logo exemplify? To me and many, it's physicality on both sides, and running the damn football at will.

So, with that answer, move on to fixing the problem. They need a new philosophy and then implement that. New OC, new RB coach, New OL coach, possibly even a new DC. Then get a big time RB and start to upgrade the OL. Blocking TE and a real FB included.

                    You left out HC
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Was Ben hurt? I'm sure the answer is yes, but that isn't important.

Did his "hurt" effect last night's results? I don't care. Last night is over.

Will his "hurt" effect him moving forward. I would say absolutely. The "Big Ben" era has come to an end and we have to accept that.

Unfortunately, that means putting the quarterback back under center and that simply isn't how the game is played today. I would love to see an offense with the quarterback under center and running the football with power, pulling guards and traps but if I want to see that I need to drag old tape from the 70s and 80s. Today, its, fancy powderpuff running save for the Ravens and Titans. I loved watching that game yesterday even though Derick Henry was held in check, because he can run the ball, the Ttian's play action was effective even though they weren't effective running the ball.

Very good points. Case to ponder what if an NFL team built a power running team circa the 1970's. Would today's defenses be able to counter?
