Of course. Pat played 10 teams they easily beat because they’re poor at defending the no look pass and the 60 yard bombs to Hill.

So what, Tom Brady had the Jets, Dolphins and Bills in his division for 19 years.

If we want to look at a Steeler that has had an easy schedule, I propose that we look at TJ Watt.

It feels like every week he lines up against a tackle on a team where the starter has opted out of the season, is on covid or IR, or is a rookie or something. I'm sure it's not exactly true, but I feel like he's often benefitting from "easy" matchups this year.

But maybe part of that is because he's awesome and most matchups will be "easier" for him.

        And that's great for us.

And it doesn't diminish his accomplishments IMO.

How bout the whole O Line? They don't have to run block because they seemingly can't and they don't have to pass block because Ben gets rid of the ball so fast.

Good point NB. But then again after the NFL outlawed holding against OLs, things kinda evened out.

I know Mahomes is legit but that dude throws a boat load of screen passes.

Prolly half his yards are from little flip plays and misdirection screens. It works but I’ve always felt like he gets a ton of credit for yards and half of them are just due to awesome play design.

I agree. People have been saying "sure they cant run block but they are such great pass protectors".
I am tired of people giving Pouncey so much credit for not allowing sacks.
How weak does a center have to be to let someone get to a QB in 2 seconds in a congested interior.

Ben LEGITIMATELY got some of the blame for "holding the ball" sacks before.
I think the biggest reason he is rarely sacked today is HIS getting rid of is so quickly.

The aging vets on our oline are straight trash.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Captain, don't get me started on Pouncey who I think has been living on his rep for about 5 yrs...

They track this info. Mahomes is 7th in the NFL on pass attempts behind the LOS. Roethlisberger is 9th. But to your point, Mahomes has a QBR of 114 on those passes (#1 in the NFL). He is 5th in the NFL in # of attempts 0-10 yds.
The biggest problem defending Mahomes is that he can make all the throws to any part of the field.

I know Mahomes can make all the throws. I hope it didn’t come across as doubting his talent. Just pointing out how he also has a ton on of hand off type passes that generate big numbers.

I wish we could set up and run screens like KC

I wish there was a stat called bad snaps that got tracked. I have a feeling Pouncey would have more than double the next closest guy. I'm not sure why his snaps are off so often and why it isn't fixable.

I know we've probably repressed a lot of these memories, but the "can he play center" days were very painful.

I thin Pouncey is declining and probably over rated because that seems to happen to O linemen that get reputations. But he's still at least average to good IMO.

He is one big reason why the run game sucks. The Depot had some clips on McFarland's rushes this year. There was one where Pouncey was literally on his keister while McFarland was looking for the gap. And the poor snaps are just exasperating.

I wish there was a stat that tracked the number of times a RB had to deal with defenders in the backfield. I don't watch everyone else, but I feel like Conner would be at the top of the list in dealing with this issue.
