In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher -
to the topic at hand...
my gut is telling me 14-2. Figure a tough game with the rats and the bills, combined with a long season without a break since week 4. Just really difficult to pull off any win, let alone 16 in a row.
But then Tomlin said - we signed on for 16 games. We're playing 16 games to win. So it seems to me if we're 13-0 going in to the last three weeks, I think no matter what - Tomlin will try for 16-0.
so my heart is with coach T. 16-0. and how friggin cool is it we're having this debate mid November?2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!Comment

While quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has never been on a 9-0 team before, the 17th-year Pittsburgh Steelers veteran does know what it’s like to go through the regular season without losing a game. As a rookie in 2004, he started and won 13 games in a year in which the team went 15-1 overall—before losing to […]Comment

This is a bad attempt by you to try and get Tomlin discussions out of me. Again...for the one millionth time....I"m not having any Tomlin discussions.
***Northern_Blitz?? Can you please tell me what do you and your crew want? What is your end game at this point? Let's bottom line this so we can go back to talking football.
My post is trying to point out that I think you are being disingenuous by playing the victim (again).
I'm trying to follow JuJus advice in this, hope I'll do better moving forward.Comment

You have cotinued to criticize him with every post. Your negative signature is part of every one of your posts. You say you only mean play offs but it is the regular season so why have a playoff related negative sig?
If you truly believe what you say then why dont you just delete your negative signature. Do that and it is all gone.
It's an easy solution if you are sincere in what you have been saying
Steel Maniac likes the attention his sig brings too much, even if it's negative.Comment

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

If you guys would just stop harping on him about it, it would be a non-issue. But you're all just as stubborn as he is. And the same horse continues to suffer a beating.Comment

No argument there. Except that we keep hearing yours over and over and over and over. You and others call out his posts and signature as much or more than you post anything else. It's tiring, especially when there's so many more positive things to discuss.Comment

My suggestion:
--Maniac removes his sig for the rest of the season (we're going to win the Super Bowl, so he won't need it after that)
--Hawaiian agrees to quit following him around and attacking him in every thread
--Both agree to not engage in personal attacks against the other
Can we do that? For the sake of supporting our team? Of course, we're not going to agree on everything, but for the sake of everyone who uses this board, can we give peace a chance?Comment

I can convince myself that I have an impact on games based on how close to the tv I am watching. Sitting vs standing makes a difference sometimes and moving to different floors or rooms in my house sometimes needs to happen too. It balances out the world.
This little lover's quarrel will pass in time, but from what I can tell, it's got more effective mojo going for the Steelers than any other rainman like tick every other poster's got going on. I'm fixated on 19-0, Fordfixer is fixated on the Steelers winning every week 2-0, Captain's always seeming to work on some reverse psychology Jedi mind trick into making us win, and I can keep going down the list of posters. The main thing is, the other superstitions work sometimes and don't work others. But these 2 being each other's biggest STAN hasn't even let us down for a regular season game.
The weirdest part is this spat is about Tomlin and Tomlin is somehow seeming to benefit and improve because of it somehow. There's a laundry list of fair/reasonable complaints anyone could make about Tomlin if we're being completely honest. We don't have to go into specifics because we all know them. And the issues are always the same. And on some level a rational person just accepts them and overlooks them like their friend that's always late even if you lie to them and tell them you need to be somewhere 15 min earlier. And it's just humanity, there's things we're all good at and others we're bad at and usually we're better off leaning into the things that we're good at anyways. But all that said, the recurring negative Tomlinisms have seemed to vanish this season.
Tomlin's not bungling clock management. He's not throwing red flags every week that never overturn calls and wasting timeouts. He replaced his punter 2x and is back to the original who's gone from the worst punter on the planet to the top 1/3 in the league. I could go on, but the bottom line here is I think Tomlin knows Maniac hates him and Hawaiian loves him. And that's putting out the right mix of vibes in the universe and has made Tomlin better and the Steelers undefeated.
This could totally have everything to do with our success....or nothing. If you really think enough about it, you might be able to convince yourself the only reason we're undefeated this season is because our friend Ruthless left the board.
Now I'm confused and I'm not changing my socks again ever....or something like that.....sigpicComment
