At the halfway point, you make the call on who is Defensive MVP if the season ended today:
Heyward
27 Total tackles -17 solo
2 sacks
4 TFLs
11 QBHits
Watt
26 Total tackles - 20 solo
7 sacks
12 TFLs
24 QBHits
Tuitt
29 total tackles - 21 solo
6 sacks
7 TFLs
17 QBHits
This is a really tough choice at this point. Each has had at least one monster game. Tuitt was absolute beast mode against Baltimore. Heyward was fantastic against CLE and BAL, and his 1/2 sack in Dallas was just wow. And Watt is just consistently a terror no matter who they are playing.
I have to give the nod to Heyward. Maybe not the best 'numbers', but the guy is not only superior individually but his play elevates everyone around him. What he does in the trenches makes everything else go. OCs have to account for him or he can wreck the whole day.
Let's see what the second half of the season brings but Heyward is my vote today.
