Then something happened. We're far from perfect, but there's a sliver of hope.

    Ben might not be done.

    Conner might have some value.

    Juju might have some value.

CC isn't done for the season.

    Ebron can still catch.

The D feeds off the O's success.

Somehow, these guys still believe and seem to be gutting it out.

I honestly thought players had given up. I thought our coaches were done. But one little spark seems to have woken everyone up.

    It wasn't pretty.

Ben doesn't have the arm strength he had before and needs to play a little more cautious with his throws.

But that doesn't mean he needs to be too cautious.

Attempts outside the hashes and down the field opened up a lot.

I'm tempted to want to see us go no huddle from here on out. I think it could be our one chance. Lord knows we can't call plays and run a structured O right now for whatever reason.

I think running no huddle might force Ben not to get stuck in his own head and doubts. It's distracting him from playing in his fear. I think that's the real thing happening here. Ben knows he doesn't have the arm he once did and he's overthinking everything and we need to do the thing that distracts Ben. No huddle.
    It's a Christmas miracle!

Hoping Ben keeps hanging out with the Ghost of Christmas Past for 2 months or so (adding a little extra to account for potential Corona delays)

Ben's arm looked plenty strong to me yesterday. He damn near over-threw DJ on the long TD pass. Great throw, magnificent catch by DJ! About 50 yards in the air - which should be nothing for an NFL QB, but at least we saw him do it and do it with ease.

I'm not worried at all about Ben's arm strength. His knees maybe. His mental game, maybe. He still has enough arm.

I'm just thrilled they gave us some reason for hope at this point in the season!
I think the issue is velocity. His balls take longer to get there so he’s not confident in the throw he used to make.

It gives defenders an extra moment to make a play on a ball.

I suspect that’s why Ben is hesitant to throw deep or outside the hashes. Some of those balls are hanging out there.

I think that why he’s overthinking things. And he’s changed his style of play pretty significantly here. He used to wait forever for guys to get wide open. Now he’s throwing to spots where he’s anticipating guys to be. That early throw + reduced velocity seem like an accident waiting to happen. But what else can you do? Gotta make Ds defend more grass to give us a chance.

LOL How about qrt to qrt? I got so upset watching the 1st half that I went out for a 5 mile jog and listened to music to settle me down. When I got back home the the Steelers were winning. Go figure.

5 days to go. Until we have 6-7 days to go. Until we have 6-7 days to go. Until we have 2 weeks to go to get to the SuperBowl and win it.

2/7/21 @ Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for anyone that wasn't adding the days up.

          33 days....

          33 days is a sign....

The 33 on every bottle of Rolling Rock which comes from Latrobe where the very first professional football team got it's start. 33....Latrobe...the birthplace of professional football.....

          2/7/21....

          Let's start with the 2 - Mike Tomlin's 2nd SuperBowl.....

And the 7, is the man that going to go get that 2nd SuperBowl for coach T.

And 21...not sure, but I did just look at my Clemente jersey in my closet this morning and realized I should wear that thing every day this year.

Also not sure if it's a sign, but I'm listening to sports talk in the background and Tony Dungy is on right now who happened to wear jersey # 21 as a Steeler. And Tony brought Mike Tomlin into the league, so maybe there is something cosmic in all of this. Just ignore the Clemente, maybe Dungy's 21 makes more sense

I think it's safe to say, no one expects anything from this team at this point.

7 other teams have higher odds of winning the SuperBowl than our Steelers.

          KC
          GB
          Buffalo
          NO
          Baltimore
          Tampa
          Seattle

In that order, those are the teams that Vegas gives a better shot of winning the SuperBowl than us.

Sometimes I think we play our best when expectations are low.

It's time to show the world who we really are.

          4 more games to go.

I love this time of year.

          Who ride???

I LOVE this time of year too! I'm hopeful based on what I saw in the 2nd half of the Colts game. We need to channel that enthusiasm. If it's Ben saying they have to have fun, then go have some fun!

My only expectation from this team is to play competitive football. Aggressive, creative play calling. Play with urgency.

If we lose to the Clowns - especially if we somehow lose convincingly - it will be a very disappointing season IMO. We need to win this game! We got the best first round matchup we could have asked for IMO. This is a must-win game for this bizarre season to feel "right". Anything beyond first round success is icing on the cake for me.

Give us something to cheer for!!

              Well said!

I honestly believe we are the one of the most complete team in the field...

KC- no running game, horrible offensive line, both are worst than ours. add no D, but Mahomes is a magician !
Bills- they might be the best team peaking now, but does Allen have an oppsy play in him. Running game is just ok... D is ok...
              Titians- there D sucks
B-more- Can Lamar pass if they trail? t
Indy- Rivers can kill this team, true definition of wild card team, depends on day.
              Browns- ha ha ha

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

people who stop watching crack me up.

a friend of mine will turn off the game if they are losing and then text me for updates.

I guess its similar to how I view Duke basketball or ND football. I hate both teams and anytime I see them losing I will tune in.. but then they always seem to end up coming back as soon as I watch.

I switch rooms in my house. Watch on TVs on different floors. Sometimes sit. Sometimes stand. Sometimes change jerseys mid game.

Hell, I’ve even taken a shower at half time to get the 1st half stench off me.

Every little thing we do plays a part.

The thing that scares me the most is hearing Ben has never lost to Cleveland in Pittsburgh.

But that’s not going to hold us back this week.

Look for Ben to go deep early, connect, and Jimmy C to put up 100+ yards on the ground.

Expect the D to feast on Baker.
