    1st 2020 NFL Game Observations

    What I seen in the HOU-KC game;

    • power runners are coming back in style; both sides had big RBs (Johnson, Edwards-Helaire) and neither defense was well equipped to stop these guys

    • KC looked in mid-season form, no sign of lack of preseason; HOU was ok but didn't have answers defensively

    • KC defense is much improved (or HOU offensive line ain't all that; the RT was getting beaten like a man-child)

    • Both QBs showed how important it is to be able to move around against pressure in the pocket, and frankly, this is a big worry I have about Roethlisberger. While he looks in great shape, he has never been known as a quick QB and he really can't afford to take many big hits

    • The fake crowd noise was noticeable but not overly annoying; rewatched a few games from last season and there is a definite difference, almost like a white-noise

    • The unders (54.5) were loving life for 80% of the game, they were crushed in the last 5 mins.

    Actually, according to the broadcasters last night there was no additional crowd noise pumped in. All noise was generated by the fans in attendance.

      Going forward I just need to know the official kickoff time of every game because I have zero interest in anything else but the actual playing of football. Even if I have to miss a couple of minutes of the first quarter it would be worth it.
      Obviously the standard is the standard.

        Interesting. It was kinda like a low din for the most part, but for only 17,000 fans in a huge stadium, that's not bad.

          That is my plan. Tuned in 2 minutes into the first quarter. watched for 15 minutes and then switched it off. Just no enthusiasm for the game right now. I'll certainly watch the Steelers on monday - but I'm not yet ready to commit time to other games. On the plus side, the NFL gave me 30% off on gamepass this year so i'll be able to watch any game I want - when I'm ready. The other good thing about game pass is, it is JUST the game. nothing else.

          Perfect.

            Typo; the line was at 53.5. Final total was 54.

              Nailed it. I was actually pleasantly surprised that there wasn't more "covid fear, covid fear, stir up racism," going on. It was less than I assumed it would be. I DVR it so I can fast forward through the propaganda, but still have a handle on how much crap they push on us.

                clyde is listed at 5'8 209, and that might be stretching it. thought the draft pubs had him at 5'7

                great addition for them but i wouldn't say he's a power back
