"At risk" fans allowed to skip season, IF approved.

Shouldn't ANY fan be allowed to skip season if they feel in danger? Why do you have to be "high risk?"

BTW, a gf of mine (who lives in Pgh) daughter has tested positive. She thinks it's from hanging with friends who had been going to bars.

On one hand I think why would anyone want to go to a football game now. Then I look around at the bars, beaches, restaurants, rallys, protests, etc. and I'm pretty sure the place will be packed if the games are played.

Under the current conditions, I don't see NFL games being packed, even if they allowed it. Airlines are packing flights right now, but if we keep seeing these spikes of new cases...that won't continue.

So why don't the Steelers allow any fans to get out of their tickets if they fear for their safety, and not just "high risk" fans? And they have to "approve" it? I am dealing with my gym who hit my bank account while they weren't even open. F that.

I think the NFL will end up playing to empty stadiums. Anything else seems ridiculous to me.

And why not have the players ALL play with a full face shield on their helmets? That’ll block most of their breath. Combined with rigorous testing and I think they could manage.

Plenty of people will show up to these games if they have them. You underestimate the power of Steelers football.
I am making plans for at least one game, hopefully at a steep discount.

The # of positive cases continues to rise, but the severity of the cases continues to weaken (but the media doesn't want to talk about that). If by Sept. the mortality, severity and hospitalizations stay on the path they are on, THEN you'll see fans going to games, if allowed.

Or we’ll see the deaths follow in 2-5 weeks behind the growing cases.

Who knows where this will go for sure, but it’s weird our trends aren’t following the trends of most other countries.

Id bet on the side of playing games with no fans. Plus football happens during flu season which is a recipe for disaster in the hospitals if we stay on the path we’re currently on. By fall, they may not even want to play football.

Most other countries don't have a clown in charge.

Is this a way of keeping people money who don’t want to go to games due to covid? Seems kinda shady if you ask me.

I think this is the perfect time to offer season ticket holders a virtual experience if they don’t want to risk it by going to games. More behind the scenes and better camera angles.

The NFL should really take advantage of this and work on a way to improve the TV experience for fans.

Whether there will be fans or not will be determined by the government – city, state or fed (but don’t see the fed doing anything correctly). If there are no official orders or mandates limiting people going to these types of events then they will be full. We’ve already seen a huge amount of people not taking this seriously and pretending there is no pandemic. Beaches are packed (with many now getting shut back down – Miami, Dewey, Rehoboth, LA County) . Bars are packed (1 bar in East Lansing is responsible of 107 confirmed cases). Water and Amusement parks are open and full. I posted a clip in another thread of a concert in TN with thousands of people (no masks) standing shoulder to shoulder screaming at the top of their lungs from this past Sunday. Given options or a chance to be responsible; people can’t control themselves.

I could see an odd situation where it varies from stadium to stadium. Some where the state has stepped in and said no would be empty and others could be full. It’s possible you could have different rules between cities in the same state.

But what happens if team has a wide spread outbreak? Do the forfeit games for 2 weeks? Even those players who don’t test positive right away will have to go into lockdown. As of right now, I don’t see how a season gets played.

That is a good idea dizz.

Maybe give all ticket free access to NFL Gamepass or Sunday ticket. Just show proof of ticket.

The NFL is continuing to move forward with plans to play the full season on schedule with fans in the stadiums, and the Steelers say they're optimistic it can be done.

                        Well, we'll see.

Why is this? To protect the team? If so, then no fans should be within 6-8 rows of other fans.

Good catch. Sounds like they can handle about 100 fans per game.

Gotta love it when they focus on profit over people. Protect the investment, but not the fans.

The inconsistencies with covid never end, never. "Everyone needs to wear a mask to stay safe." (except for Fauci, Trump, Spence, etc.) "We must practice social distancing" (except when it comes to flying so the airlines can make $, then packing planes full trumps safety, apparently.)
