I strongly agree and believe that this is what makes him an above average coach.

Leadership is the trait that the Steelers try to hire for in a HC. I wasn't alive when they hired Noll, but it seems to me like both Cowher and Tomlin were hired more for their leadership than for their reputations as Xs and Os guys.

What a shocker, feltdizz lied again! Next time just tell him, "peasant get on your knees and when I tell you to get up you're going to go out in the field to pick some cotton for me". ha ha, lol.

This is why I think the “my family served” doesn’t fly. Black people have been serving in the military since the civil war. They often were treated better overseas than they were when they returned home to the states.

I’m not trying to imply anything regarding your point but you need to understand saying your family served isn’t some trump card that wins the argument. It just proves that some people still don’t want to discuss the actual reason Kap is kneeling.

Did you know the GI Bill was denied to 1.2 million Black vets from WWII? Redlining, Southern colleges not admitting black students.. so many avenues denied to Black vets because America just couldn’t bring themselves to let us have the same chance to succeed after fighting in the same war?

but people use their family members in the military as cover instead or recognizing this country dragged its feet to give us equality.

and we had to march peacefully and get hosed and but by dogs just to be treated as an equal on paper.

and one more thing. You said you would never disrespect your family. Why can’t you understand this is the way some of us feel about our family members who have been the victim of police brutality or stoped countless times for driving while black and having guns pulled on them?

I’m 46 years old. In my lifetime all my black friend and I with degrees, military vets or blue collar hard working folk can tell at least 20 stories about being stopped by police for no reason. When I have these discussions with white friends they usually have 1 story about plowing pulled over for speeding. They never have the “gun pulled on me for mistaken identity” story that we can all talk about.

and this isn’t a woe is me rant. Just the way it is in America and people like me can totally relate to the frustration people like Kap have when it comes to being proud to be American. If your family members told you these type of stories and had “the talk” with you.. then you know exactly why this isn’t about the flag.
You're a hypocrite! It's okay for Steel Mafia to want to segregate me, but you don't have the courage to call him it out on his comment even though your family members suffered the same fate. What a hypocrite!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

"The systemic oppression of an entire race of people". Like George Floyd's long history of criminal acts like when he was trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill while being high as a kite, and refusing to cooperate with the police?

Oppression my ass, how about learning to take responsibility for his own actions instead of being a badass criminal, as a way to stay out of trouble with the law. That would have worked in this situation and he'd still be alive. Nothing to do with oppression or race.

Good to read that passing a bogus 20 is a Capital Crime. Presumably Haskins also had it coming. Anyway, Bro Prowler, thanks for clearing up the ambiguities. You're one meat and stone, take no prisoners Canuck

Well for "some people" he is. Notice what these people have in common. The more killed off the better.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Nobody said that passing a bogus 20 is a capital crime. Now you're just lying like the rest of them. The capital crime in this case was the police brutality and murder of a suspect.

It’s a great topic because as we all know now overall crime and murders are way down in the AA community ever since George Floyd, BLM, and the Defund the Police movement took off 2 years ago. Things are really looking up these days for sure.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

FWIW i'm not down with "Defund." Since over 90% of all 911 calls are for NON-FELONIES [domestic disputes; drunk/disorderly; loud party; burglary follow up] instead of buying more military surplus, hire uniformed and sworn M.S.W's to ride with the police. They're trained in Conflict Resolution. Cops aren't.

                              which begs the question:

why aren't cops trained in conflict resolution?

Great point. They should be but aren't. Since 52 cents of every tax dollar goes for Defense it's the only area of bipartisan agreement. It's called Perpetual War For Perpetual Peace. But what do I know?
